Lol I clicked on this thread thinking I was going to find the best deal on it. Maybe this thread should get a title change lol. ECGS is where I'd be looking for that setup.

 

East Coast Gear Supply is usually the #1 go to for regear and locker stuff namely because they have the best customer service.

 

ECGS did my ARB lockers and 4:88's and I installed the third and clamshell myself. Would use no one else

 

Yeah, ECGS all the way. Assembled thirds and clams have a 5 year warranty. Only negative I've heard is that the core they use may be older/higher mileage than your stock one. But you can get new bearings instead of good used ones. I didn't hesitate to save $200 and use good used bearings. Because 5 year warranty...

 

Is it hard installing the gearing for the front??

 

Not terribly, but it is a pain in the ass. Loosen/remove axle nuts, seperate LCA from spindle, tap out CV, undo and remove clamshell mounts, remove clamshell, swap stub shafts, reverse and repeat. With the generous help of @EDDO and @tyfoon11 we got it done in 8-9 hours. None of us had done it before and we (me ) had a few hiccups. Having already done it, could easily cut the time by more than half if I did it again.

 

And the front gears don't need to be "set up"? They just go in?

 

Yes if you buy the assembled clamshell. No if you just buy the ring/pinion/install kit

Both are running Nitro gears, the rear has a factory E-locker, the front is factory non locking.

I'm regeared in the front to 4.56 and looking to upgrade to an arb locker upfront. New clamshell has 25,000 miles on it. If someone is interested in getting it for the right price. I would send it to you instead of sending it to ecgs. I think they only give you 400 for it plus I would have to pay shipping.

 

Why not just add the locker to what you have?
