    I have the mob armor mount and love it. Very strong sturdy and well made, plus he phone is not going anywhere, not matter the terrain. The large size even fits my iPhone 6 with out a case actually. I ordered it on accident but am still happy.

    Ram x grip looks good too.

    I understand. Voice directions work on either unit and don't take eyes off the road. I am just really tired of driving in slow moving traffic that is only slow moving because people are too busy staring at their phones to notice all the open space in front of them and the traffic flowing around them like water around a rock.

    There is a video that show installation and image quality... I could not use it the way they show because I have a Note 5 and it does not support the cable connection to HDMI but I could use a MiraCast dongle and make a wireless video connection to mirror my screen...

    My current solution is a little different, after giving up on the RAM X Mounts which always seem to interfere with the side buttons on my iPhone 6S, and look pretty hokey. Now I'm using the Topeak RideCase and mount, intended for bicycles. The case is a nice one, if you choose to use a case anyway, not ultra-thin but adequately slim and very rugged. It's helped my phone survive many drops. The mount is pretty unobtrusive and can be attached almost anywhere, very secure, and just snaps onto the case. The kicker is that I bought two extra mounts (sub $10 each with free shipping, these were iPhone4 versions, the cases are of course different, I tossed them, but the mount is the same) and now I can clip my case into my car, my motorcycle and my bicycle. The Topeak includes mounts for bike stem and handlebar clamp, and I made a small bracket to clip the mount to the dash trim above the CD slot. No holes, no tape residue, and it's held up well for several months.

    I'm with you. Even when not moving ...some kid (which for an old guy like me means anyone from 16-35) texting on their phone at a traffic light that turns green. 3 seconds, blow horn, 2 seconds for them to put the phone down and get moving, they make it through the light and one car behind them, then it turns red.

    Ah; your question didn't seem like you'd seen that there's a gel pad under he dashboard plate which the suction cup then grips.

    I went a different route this time but have had a similar thing before and it worked well.

    I had it stuck to the curved dash of my 4th gen runner forever. Now the wife and I have them both mounted to the windshield. The cleaning with water thing really does work too.
