I use a bungee strap and connect it to my rack. When I have my awning out, I tie the other side to my awning pole. Works great. The fwd window prop is open.

I do something similar, except I use a string and a washer. I unscrew the antenna, then place the washer on the bottom of the antenna and then screw it back in. But I would definitely use roof rack if I had one :anonymous:

Dynatrac ProRock 60 Rear Axle, that is important enough.
With the CVT Sale going on, I am really tempted to purchase one for myself as the discount would pretty much give me free shipping on anything.

Since it is usually just me going camping and sleeping in my tent, I was thinking a Mt. Bachelor Extended or a Mt. Shasta extended as I want the ladder in the Annex for changing and a cot if need be.

Is there really any need to get a Summit series if I am going to use it maybe 10-15 times a year on trips? I could just get the Anti Condesation Mat with the tent and as far as the other stuff, don't really need a light as I have enough LED Lanterns, the better fabric is nice, but not really needed for the amount of times I would use it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey y'all! I'm finally ready to get my Tepui up on my bed rack. Going to do my first camping trip with it this weekend. I'm looking to use the annex as well, and I'll definitely do a dry run with all of it before the trip.

Is there anything you guys would recommend that I do, or watch out for during the mounting and the dry run?

    Thanks in advance!

Could look into getting longer bolts so you don't bend the metal "washer"

Its some tracker supply tool box I found on craigslist for cheap. It does the job and for $50, I have no real complaints about the box itself. I do wish my bed bars were just a little higher but I may eventually get a taller bed rack. I can open the box with the tent in place but it doesn't fully open. Depending on what you have in there, you should have plenty of space to access whatever you need.

Awesome thanks for the info. Been looking around for some sort of lockable storage. Thought about a camper shell but no monies and I'm not sure if I want the RTT that high.

Practice set-up/teardown several times in the driveway. Don't forget your poles...ask me how I know. Put together a way to anchor the overhang to the wheel or slider to prevent unintended closure during wind storm. It happens. Keep a wide-mouthed bottle to pee in at night. Rig some sort of bag or net just outside the door to keep your shoes in. Bring a small rug to put at the bottom of the ladder to clean your shoes on. Bring some 14" lengths of 2x6 to level the truck on uneven ground. Have fun.

That's funny, I was just saying to my Wife that we need a roof rack so I can do this. I have the same problem.

Although, now that I look at my own pic, I could just hook it to the snorkel

BTW, his great is that shower tent?

Thanks for the great feedback, y'all!

I got her on there and did a few trial runs. Couldn't be happier, but I already have a few ideas for improvement.

Can I sit at the cool kids' table now?

so for you guys that have your bed rack not all the way to the top of the cab but just below it do you have any wind drag issues? I dont want my tent to be all the way above the cab of my ruck but i also dont want it to sit down on the bedsides. I still want to be able to get into the bed of my truck without doing the army crawl. got my tent on order and need to start building my bed rack
