If you go SUA you better keep the weight to the absolute minimum in the rear. Like tube bumper, bed cage and that's about it. RTT will make you sag, those springs don't hold weight well at all.

Good to know... I'm just tired of the lack of up travel these trucks have. With the all pro leafs and super bumps there is 2in between the bumps and stops... and that is currently how it sits without a rack, rtt, etc.

Super bumps are fully compressible which helps. Did you relocate your rear shocks? That's about what I'm up travel wise. This is with about an inch or up travel left and 35's
    image.jpg

    And fully compressed on 33's

Oh yea I know they are very compressible, much better than stock, which has helped. If I relocated the shocks I could remove the metal spacer on the super bumps, or just different bumps all together, but then the leafs would go negative a lot more... Which worries me. So it's either icon or king bolt in hydro bumps to make the bottom out smoother, shock relocate with longer shocks and a shackle flip(just to get a little more up travel), or sua with shock relocation. I won't go full bed cage because I won't use giant rear shocks. The front can handle so much more than the rear so I know I need something better in the rear (and god that just sounds wrong)

What rear shocks are you running now? You won't gain any up travel by relocating the rear unless you have the lower shock tabs stick wayyyyy below the axle or only run a 10" shock (currently we run a 12"). No matter what shock setup you have your springs will always go negative at the same amount of up travel, only way to change that is a new leaf pack.

The stock tabs stick way down but at least those are much closer to the wheel versus mine which are further inboard on the axle, so the likely hood of hitting them on a rock is very high if you want to gain up travel with it.

If you want more up travel now you need shorter bump stops assuming your shock has enough up travel

I've got fox remote resi's from DSM... Unsure of the exact travel specs, but they are spec'd for a lift. I've got about 0.5in of travel left on the shock shaft, if that, so not much room left to shorten my bump stops. Assuming I kept my current shocks.

Hmm.. Weird I thought those shocks had a lot of up travel in them.
if you do SUA you have to run at least 16" shocks and bed cage though. I don't mind that part but they don't hold weight which sucks

The total chaos kit will allow me to run stock length(no real gain in travel) up to whatever length I want, so I would probably go for 14 to minimize the impact or cutting on my bed, etc.

I am thinking about a rtt eventually... So I wonder if an aluminum slim rack would significantly help in reducing bed weight?

Plus if I order the leafs directly from (Deaver is the spring maker for the kit I think?) I save a couple hundred bucks, so I could always have Deaver customize them to handle a little more weight?

Eh might. Longest shock you can put in the stock location is 10", I can fit a 12" without going through the bed but anything longer requires that.

Didn't know the TC kit allows stock shock locations though..

You can... But it wouldn't make sense heh. Definitely worthwhile to add in longer shocks. TacomaRearMidTravel01.jpg

That's a rad set up right there. Kinda kills the ground clearance tho. You see that bracket attached to the leaf thats holding the e brake line? I need one of those. For some stupid reason i cut mine off when i installed my leafs, now the rubbing has almost wore a hole in the sleeve. Any idea where i can get one?
