2016 NCAA Football Thread

I dunno. That's the most frustrating thing as a former athlete myself (not anything special) that wanted to be good, and wishes that I could have experienced that stuff.

I'd also like to make a point, pertaining to the gun thing, we don't know about people from these player's past, or current situations outside of football. People are fucking crazy these days, and something simple like a nutso ex boyfriend making threats against you as a star athlete for dating "his girl" can get pretty crazy. Wanting to have some form of protection isn't something out of the ordinary. I'm sure there is a lot of heat or pressure from situations like that and others such as haters from their past that just cant get over something....

 

But you can go about getting one legally

 

Depends upon his age and the local laws. Also, I don't know whether Alabama is a "gun free zone".

 

Also, technically speaking, the Constitution already states that he can carry one, so....

 

I love guns. But what was also in the report, the cops approached the vehicle in a parking lot because they smelt weed. If you want to carry a gun illegally (to each his own, I could care less) then don't go driving around smoking weed. That's flat dumb

 

I'm not defending him. I am a proper person, and paid my $120 to "legally" (according to the state of Indiana) carry a handgun.

He obviously forewent the process of being "licensed" by the State of Alabama to do so. (yet another tax, basically)

Whether he did it because he felt threatened or it made him feel "cool" or gangsta or whatever, it was obviously against the law. I believe it is a misdemeanor.

In the case that he felt his personal safety was in jeopardy, taking a POSSIBLE misdemeanor to potentially keep you safe or alive is well worth it in some situations. I'm really interested to see why he was stopped in the first place. Having a handgun isn't probable cause to stop someone. So he had to have been pulled over or stopped for something else to begin with.

 

Regardless of what you think should or shouldn't be legal, you still have to follow the rules.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Also, do any of these guys have an apartment? I never understood why adults go to smoke in their cars

 

Yeah, if you've ever spent more than 10 minutes on a campus around housing, or anywhere for that matter, you're gonna smell weed.

 

I think the players have a dorm that they stay in.

 

It's the football team. They can do whatever they want behind closed doors

 

More than likely, he was smoking weed. Probably just bought it, and had the gun incase shit went sideways. Dumb all the way around.

Highly visible athlete in a major college football program. Stay away from drugs and illegal shit.

Also, it isn't my OPINION or what I "think" is legal. These are facts. There are laws on top of laws on top of laws.

 

Meh, I dunno man. I would think if coaches smelled weed in the dorm they would probably have a fit. Its a banned substance. Could jeopardize the whole season. Same with this situation too, though.

Its just stupid. Stay out of trouble...sheesh.

 

I mean, seriously, is there anything you wouldn't do to have the opportunity and athletic skills/abilities these kids have? I'd go back in a heartbeat.

 

If we've learned anything over the past few years it's that coaches, for the most part, care about winning and will turn a blind eye to pretty much anything

So, potentially making millions playing a game wouldn't necessarily improve your quality of life right now?

 

When you consider the percentages of the kids that actually make it on an NFL roster, my chance of making millions is fairly equal
