You gotta be kidding right? Nothing you've posted in this thread has been helpful in the slightest. You've made an ass of yourself from the very first post. And quite frankly your tough guy bravado here is truly laughable. There's people here from all over the country that you're picking fights with and telling us all how badass you are. What are you gonna do fly all over the country to each one of our homes and talk shit to us about tire sizes? (that I've already proved you were wrong about)

That dude is an absolute moron. Still thinks this is just another thread about 285/70s.
He seems to like to get drunk and act like a 12 year old girl online. Nothing new.

Just ignore him. He will only continue to respond if he's given attention.

    Back to the tires.........

So because Im stubborn and like the look of the Steel Pro Comps I'm going to have my tires mounted to them at 4 wheel part tomorrow. I bought some 1/4 inch spacers ($20) to begin fittment this weekend and will probably swap back to my stock wheels/tires until my 1"BORA spacers come in. I read a review of them and they look OK?

I will post some pics for the OP and other interested parties on this thread to see what kind of clearancing was necessary for my particular truck/tire/wheel setup. I will be doing mostly highway driving with my truck but I also enjoy wheeling at the beach and mountains a few times a year so I want no or barely any rubbing throughout the articulation range. I will buy some black fender flares to mutilate if I have to a remove a very obvious amount. I dont mind the CMC or inner fender/pinch weld stuff. Have a 125 amp wire feed Lincoln Welder I bought from Lowes 10 years ago (Cheap but still melts shit togehter). Plenty hot enough to do the CMC.

Your backspacing will be 3.25" with your 1" spacers. With that low of bs, you will be hitting your firewall and cab mount more than normal.

Deeeeeeeeznuts is right, gonna be stanced for sure. The lower inside plastic is going to need some TLC. I would also be mindful of it at stuff, you could pop some fender clips if it grabs enough of it.

4.25-4.5 BS seems to be the optimal offset for this wheel and it stuffs nicely.

    other options:

    change wheels
    or
1/4 spacer and longer studs + love on the caliper a smidge

it doesnt seem that there would be enough meat on the OEM lugs to use the 1/4 spacer. I have done some dumb shit but that might be pushing it. Anybody else use the 1/4" spacer with stock lugs?

Up my life insurance and roll on?

The stock lugs will be short. They are already pretty short without a 1/4" spacer. Your lug nuts would be hanging on by very few threads.

Yeah, It was concerning when I did a test fit this afternoon. With the 1" spacers I won't have to grind anything on the caliper either. Maybe I can convince myself that the extra chopping involved with the spacers will provide more room for 35 x 12.50's with the right wheel? Don't want to go there until I regear. I will make it work one way or another.

Nope, gonna need to chop 2.5-3" off the flares for dirty 5s.

Make that decision before you get a rear bumper cause you would need to have that ted yo match the fender cuts.

This is why its the perfect size tire. Most 35s actually measure 34.6, its the width that kills you.

    Toyo needs like a 285x80r17

    There's a few 285/75r18 tires out there. And they're true 35s.

Raining like crazy but got 3 out of 4 on. Going to do the fourth now and go for a ride. Mud flaps are gone. Trimming and chopping will be tomorrow. These suckers are heavy.

Had to use 1.25 inch spacer on the front for now to clear the caliper........ I know they arent ideal and with the weight of these I can see myself learning to do Tacoma wheel bearings with the added stress involved on the outer wheel bearing. From what I've read the outer takes hell the less the backspacing is. Makes me at 3" with the spacer.

Lots of Trimming to go off road Im sure. Just pulling out the driveway for the test ride it was rubbin pretty good. Sounds worse than it is. Drives like a tank now and that's good! It reminds me of the 85 model I had with the 35" Mud Kings. Just a whirr from the tires at 55mph, not loud. It was wet out though. Totally fine with the 3.73 stock gears. I would use 4th in place of 5th (auto trans) to go down my back roads to keep around 1800-2000rpm. Im sure on the interstate 5th will be acceptable. Easily squealed from a dead stop (wet road).

I will try to get some flexing pics after my trim job so others can see one more example with 285/75R17 tires. Hell I'm sure what I'm getting into but I'm gonna cut till I'm all or mostly free flexing.

Sure no problem. Tomorrow in the day I will.

It's finally as tall as our stock suspension F-150 with 285/70R17 Cooper. Can't let the wife's ride be taller.

She said my new wheels n tires were ugly but then her pants fell off just a few minutes later..........

Yea, love those wheels but not enough to run spacers.

I hate it. I have some ideas on that and still reading up.... shave a little off of the wheel, say 1/8" and ever so slightly radius the edge of the caliper and maybe a thin 1/8" spacer that fits perfectly on the lugs still allowing the hub centric portion to center the wheel?

What if I used a thin say 1/16" or 3/32" washer between the caliper and the knuckle? it would off center the caliper slightly, but would that be any different than brake pads that wear a little faster on one side than the other? Deathwish?
