Unreal!!! The fact that the truck was completely under saltwater and still started is insane. I wanna buy one of these old Hilux. Toyota for life!

Reminds me of the old 70's style Baja Super Beetles. Definitely looks sick with those tires IMO....love it!

I saw the special they did on Discovery Channel some years back highlighting the arctic expedition. They run 38's and when the tire comes off the bead, they spray lighter fluid around the rim and ignite it with an aerosol spray to inflate the tire in less than a second...pretty badass. Check out the video of it being done.

    completely stock
Actually its a 1.75" suspension lift and 2.25" body lift. The tires are AT 405s which are made for and branded by Arctic Trucks...

The hood scoop on the D4D is indeed functional, the intercooler sites right below there, same as a Subaru STI!

If I remember correctly most of those Arctic trucks have a 4 link rear suspension, the only reason I can see for doing this would be to eliminate any wheel hop?

    http://www.autoblog.com/2010/01/18/be-like-clarkson-and-conquer-the-arctic-in-a-toyota-hilux-w-vid/

"When Top Gear went to the North Pole – actually, to be specific, when Jeremy Clarkson and James May went to the North Pole, they went in a Toyota Hilux prepared by Arctic Trucks in Iceland. Richard Hammond went via sled-and-dog-team, which, believe it or not, looked a lot less comfortable than the satnav-equipped Hilux.

In what seems like a predictable (yet awesome) result of that odyssey, Arctic Trucks is now offering multi-day tours of Iceland in their ultimately prepped Toyotas. Having just returned from a trip to Reykjavik and the glaciers – sadly not with these blokes – we can tell you it would be an excursion you will never forget. No, it isn't the North Pole, but we'd argue it might be even better: more variety and nicer people, and no polar bears.

Follow the jump to read the press release on Arctic Trucks' offerings, and to watch video of Top Gear's epic polar expedition as seen in three parts. Photos your of your balloon-tired chariot can be found in the high-res gallery below."

The Hilux is sick! I love the diesel, and it get's 34mpg with a manual transmission! WOW! 2x of what the V6 get's. Also, factory leather, navigation, etc... I downloaded the manual from Toyota for fun and would LOVE to own one of these. I think the look of the Tacoma might be a little better, but the Hilux would be very unique if you could get one here.

The Hilux in the first post reminds me of the truck in Tango & Cash minus the machine guns.
