There are guys who would buy 360 and 430 Stradale and spend 200K at Novitec and CEC making it better. 911 Turbo S guys dropping 50K to make it better.

Happens everywhere. You can buy a Ford Focus base model and with enough money make it faster than a ZR1. But there are guys who start with a Focus RS instead and then drop 40K into modifying it.

Heck I am guilty of it.

    Cool project OP.

Right there with you, I saved up for months so I could do all, or most, of the mods I have planned. As to the OP tearing down his entire truck.....I thought I was pretty badass when I installed my Redline Tuning hood struts.

Yes but when you get into modifying sports cars and super cars you can build on sometimes better engines.
Look at the Supra. 2JZ GTE and 2JZ GE engines. One has twin turbos and better internals other is normally asperated and weaker internals.
Obviously you'll want to build the GTE one.

But with the Pro and OR aside from aesthetics and suspension they are identical mechanically.
Its just one of those things you could save the extra 10K it is for a pro and that would then give you 30K to do in mods.

Its going to be a cool build either way, just economically would be better to just buy an OR if you plan to do that big of mods. (main reason I'm buying the OR and not a pro)

I think when you are talking about modding cars, economics or logic aren't priorities. I know. Because instead of Supras I spent money on 3 SC300. 2 were manual 5 speed, single turbo. I could have saved all my money and got a Supra TT as a base instead....

I am just glad there are enthusiasts showing us projects.

oh I agree hell I dumped 20K into my 2006 jetta TDI lol

I guess it just comes down to how much money you have.
I personally couldn't afford all the mods I want to do to my OR if I got the Pro instead. Just have other stuff I need to pay for like food and mortgage lol.

should be a cool build though

Lots of TRD PRO hate around here. I remember all the hate when I ordered mine. But people love them.... they just won't admit it.

I love them just don't love the price.
I wish I could get cement gray for an OR.

If they offered Cement on OR, I know I would have had to change my Pro order. Cant roll in a color that the lowly OR owners can get their hands on :D :D

Ended up essentially costing me $6K more than my TRD OR. I lost the moonroof. Oh well.

Problem is it seems nearly every Pro is cement. I think I'd rather have BR

Sure online they are all Cement. Here in LA, I have only seen 1 cement so far. It is all orange TRD PRO Tundras....

I think Toyota ran and did a bunch of pro cement orders. My guess is a lot of the first ones are cement because it was a new color. Everyone had to have it. Only a few Pro's in around my area so far and I think all were cement

Per your quote, you are at 60K for your TRD PRO

I think it is awesome. No shame in being a baller. As I said I only have $7800 in mods lined up. So your $21K is amazing.

I am jealous. Not a hater. Big difference.

I should finally get her back tomorrow!!

That being said I see not point in this guys build, but that's just my opinion and you guys know how opinions go. I am excited to see what he does! My outlook is as long as it's a Toyota it's good with me!

Subbed to see the build. It's his money, he can do what ever he wants with it. Stop telling him he "should have bought OR/SR5/Raptor". Doesn't matter cause it's not your truck. Let him build it how he wants.

Thank you! So tired of people on here saying you should have gotten a Raptor! If people are such Raptor fanboy's I'm sure there's a Raptor forum somewhere lol
