Turnaround next month = A full regear and considering dual lockers. Just saying.

 

All my refinery rat friends say they only make decent money on turn around andovertime otherwise meh

 

Yeah its pretty good normally, but its goes back and forth because of the way our schedule is set up. Some paychecks are 6 day pay periods with no OT and it sucks a bit, but then you get an 8 day pay period with a holiday (double time and a half) or a couple days of OT and thats a new truck part or an extra payment or two somewhere lol. Turnarounds are shitty. Just shitty. 12-14 hours shifts every day for a month or two (or 3-4 at other units) makes you lose your shit really quickly. BUT, the pay makes you calm down really quick when those paychecks start depositing. It's a pretty damn good job and I'm not complaining, I'm lucky to have it and definitely appreciate it.

 

meanwhile im still trying to get reassigned up here to dublin for National Guard because they expect me to drive from concord all the way down to Visalia once a month to play Army.... not happening haha

yeah, tomorrow is my last day of active duty fulfilled my 8 year obligation, but like a dumbass i signed for an additional year of NG -_- at least its only a year haha

Yeah I did 6 1/2 AD and then a year and a half IAR. Fulfilled my 8 back in 2013.
