They can't trade for one? Are you in one of those auto groups where no one will trade with you anymore because of some shady deals lol. I'm just kidding around though when I bought my Nissan Juke years ago right when they came out I had that issue. The only dealer that had one in the gun metal colour everyone wanted was the dealership that mine wouldn't trade with out of mutual hate lol.

TBH I don't think they looked. It's funny. I'm not in a rush to pick up the truck, because i want to save more for the down payment (the bigger the better right?) but I'm excited to know WHEN I can pick it up. I kinda want it straight from the factory and not from another dealer...cuts down on the mileage when I pick it up and I know aside from a few people, no one's been in it but me

I went with the automatic. My buddy the sales manager had the transmission fluid checked for me with the PDI as they knew there could be issues.

Yeah the Canyon is lifted 2" at the front and we had them side by side today. With the 2" lift he sits just level with my Tacoma.

I also had a chance to drive it tonight. What's with mid size trucks and their transmissions? His has the stuttering when accelerating from a stand still or slow speed. I merged into Highway 97 in it and it had a 2 second delay/lag. Felt like an old Turbo that needed to spoil up.

And on a side note it handles more car like. Steering is a little tighter, ride a little stiffer (he has the All Terrain off road package) and definitely did not soak up bumps like my TRD Off Road.

That being said in comparison to the generation 2 I drove it seemed downright revolutionary. Compared to my 3rd generation it is a good competitor but not quite good enough.

Nah, they all come off the same line at the same speed. A few things get added on some models that differ the Canadian version from the American version, but believe those add-ons get done at Port. It's typical for manufacturers to add on accessories outside of the manufacturing plant. I know a guy here who adds leather interiors to Mazdas that are shipped from Japan, who would have thought.

My experience with this is if you are tooling around at near 1000 rpm and try to punch it, there is a delay downshifting and bringing up rpm's, but if you are in the power range it will take off as expected. I've learnt to expect this sort of thing to happen and have adjusted my driving style for merging and passing. Also note that if you are trying to merge from a standstill and break loose a tire, the truck will use TRAC to avoid wheel spin causing the engine to drop rpm and apply brake to spinning wheel. This is an important one to keep in mind if trying to jump into traffic at an intersection. Trust me, the first time you do it and feel its effects, will be the last time you try to do it again.

Yeah the Tacoma isn't as bad as the Canyon in that regard. My 2017 drives as I expect it to.

Well I was worried about my Tacoma after reading some of the complaints from American buyers.

My 2017 Off Road SB thankfully has the body colored bumper ends, homelink mirror and LED brake lights. So there are definite differences.

This was the same for my wife's 2015 Honda CRV Touring. We get mirror turn signals and other features the US didn't. Their cars always seem cheaper than ours but we do get a few bonuses that they do not.

When looking at the 2017 Honda Ridgeline it was the same. We get a number of features like cooling seats that the US doesn't. Cooling seats in Canada but not in a car destined for Texas? Which smart bean counter thought of that.

What problem? I have the delay, reverse to drive, been at the dealer twice for that. Tranny was down quart and a half. Haven't had the TSB done yet, waiting for service because I can live with it for now. Go to the previous page and read @over60 issues, he's had his fair share. I've definitely seen my fair share here on TW. Of course not everyone is experiencing everything everybody else is, but the quantity of vehicles sold in Canada is minimal compared to the U.S., so odds are less Canadians have issues than our counterparts below us.

I thought I read here on TW somewhere that all Canadian market Tacoma's were built in USA (based on VIN), while American sold Tacoma's were built in both American and Mexican plants. Any Canadian's have a Mexican made Tacoma?

Or the Americans like to complain about everything and anything. I have seen people complaining about the low fuel warning.
They were on the 4Runner trail and the Fj Cruiser. The darker ones are from the FJ.

Yup a 2nd Gen. Trust me this issue was beat to death years ago, there isn't any issue tied to one truck plant or the other. They both start with the same parts and end up with the same problems if any exist.

So the fj wheels fit the taco prefect. I actually really like them. If only they were a 0 mm offset

3rd Gens were coming from Texas, but now that they added a 3rd shift to the Mexican plant, that may have changed or could change.
