Norcal Spotted and BS Thread

Yeah I'm still new to the concept of wheeling, this is my first truck I've ever owned. So I'm not looking to upgrade suspension to go do MOAB tomorrow or anything. Most the places I go camping are off road but can still be accessed with a 2wd vehicle if you're careful and it's the right time of the year.

I'm looking at getting a new set of Bilstein 5100s. And yeah, sticking with 16" wheels.

Yeah was looking at OME as well. Going to buy from HeadStrong Off Road. They've got the complete kits.

 

Thats what I was going to do, with headstrong too, but decided that I'd eventually go to coil-overs and Sam listed his Icon's so I jumped on em. Been buying everything else bit by bit with each paycheck during the deployment. Good thing was I had time so I waited for deals and GB/sales. I'll have a fun mid travel setup for 1800 bucks when I'm done, only used part would be his used (newly rebuilt) Icons. Though I've wanted Kings, they're leaps and bounds beyond my 5100/885 coil set up now that has sagged and rides like shit after years of deaf attitude on washboard fire roads.

Also, piggybacking off your post earlier. I'm like you, 2wd but I like to think I test my truck to it's limits. Mid travel is just another step for me. Some day I'll look into a 1st gen 4x4 to have as a toy. For now its a DD and a trusty rig that I can take on a lot of Tahoe trails to get to primitive camp sites and lakes. That's all I care about. Especially with the recent health diagnosis, I just want get out with family and friends and go places to relax.

 

hope you brought a kidney belt for off-roading with those Icons.

Figured, I've stayed quiet about it.. lurking.. Would I want Kings, F**k yea! but I've got a budget and they'll be leaps and bounds above my old 5100 setup.

 

theyll be a huge improvement to your current set up.

 

Someone needs to add this one to the NorCal stable.
