What does it take to lower the Pre-runner to standard height.

I'm just curious. Not sure if I will do anything but I like it to drive more like a car (I need the bed to haul light stuff). Why Toyota assume that all double cab owners want the 4x4 look.

 

because most people buy a truck to do truck stuff, like camping 4x4ing fishing, which all are much better with a truck that goes places. you'll get used to the taller vehicle and start to like it Im sure

 

Sounds like you might be better off with a Sienna.

 

I was being serious. They have a spacious passenger area, are pretty low to the ground, drive car-like, and have a decent amount of cargo space in the back.

Sittin Sic makes drop coils for the Xrunner. Check with them to see if they would work on a Prerunner

 

I didn't mention him wanting his truck for those reasons. I didnt mention a single thing about why he wanted his truck, go back and re read.

LOL...I expected some of the answers to be like that (no offense taken at all) and that was why I mentioned I need the bed to haul light stuff that I can't do with a van which we currently have one, an Odyssey. I had a Titan 4x4 which I had planned for carrying the stuff from the lumber yards (I build some funiture for my home) and skiing trips with the family of 5. As it turned out, kids hate sitting in the Titan for more than 2 hours and we only used it 2 times for skiing trips. So I decided to sell the Titan with another reason, gas (11/17). I wanted a car but as many of you already know, once you have a truck you can't go back to a car, so i got the Pre-Runner TRD, perfect solution (actually a better one is the X-runner but 3 teenagers won't fit in the back). I found out that the Pre-runner TRD takes high speed sweeps on the freeway interchanges really well (at leat it feels very confident) and I got greedy, wanting to improve its handling even more. I looked that the rear brace for the X-Runner but it requires some welding which I might consider but I know it's the height that kills most cars' handling. So that was why I asked.

just to let u kno from what i know, that tundra racing kit is the ONLY kit out there for 6 lugs. the DJM, Sittin Sic, J&J, C2C and SOS kits WILL NOT WORK with your truck, they are specifically made for 5 lug suspensions, (much different). Handling wise there is a hellwig rear sway bar out there for you 6 luggers, and i think if u use this drop kit you need X runner rear shocks, so you could use QA1 rear adjustable shocks (i think you rear suspension should be low enough). if you want more info on the rear shocks hit up shane or phillip at sittin sic, i think their vendors here.

 

oh yah and the rear x brace has two bolts as well as the two points where it is welded on to the rear leaf hanger. there is also a front X brace that bolts on the the front portion of the frame.
