The Waiting Game...Who's playing?

I have heard only 5% of V6 Tacomas are available with the manual.

 

Just finished the waiting game. Approx 4 months waiting for my DCSB OR MT. Only had the truck 2 days now, but I love it.

 

Ordered 9/3
Production Date 10/11
Delivery ~10/25?

The wait continues, but this should be nothing compared to my previous wait time on the first order attempt 5/30-8/31.

a few more weeks and toyota could give birth to this fucking thing.

Build Month was August.

Checked today, and still no vin, build sheet, or pricing.
Anticipated arrival is October.

Not sure what and what I or the dealer should have by now.

 

Is there any rhyme or reason when and how Toyota accepts the orders? I placed mine on 9/1 with my dealer. No word still on accepting my order from Toyota.

 

check my post #3020 last page. short answer, no... it's just when people do their part to put the request in from the dealer, and from there it's most likely production load planning that determines when the MT's get done on Toyota's side. MT wait time varies from 4 weeks to 4 months from what i've seen around here. now that the Pros are getting allocated and ordered, it may be entirely different. for the Pros, at least, the allocations appear pre-scheduled. my Pro showed the delivery date in the dealer's system before any allocation was requested and therefore before a VIN was assigned. and for me, one month after ordering and paying a deposit, the VIN still isn't assigned although my dealer has already made their allocation request (which also apparently requires that they put up 3 AT Taco allocations to get the one MT... i've had two dealers tell me this so far). i'm not in the biz so this is just what i've been told and put together.

 

Ordered August 14. Built a few weeks ago. Arrived in Ottawa today. Now waiting for "delivery"

Building: 10/19

Being made in Baja. I'm in SoCa. Wonder how long it'll take after the build date to arrive at the dealership?

 

My build date is 10/9. Not sure where it is being built, how did you find out? Dealer told me that it would come at the end of October.

 

Vin. Starts with 3= BAja, 6=Texas

 

Looks like mine is being built in Baja too. Was hoping for Texas build.

today is my supposed build date. How soon can they tell in their system if my truck is actually being built? should I call today and make sure it is being built, so does their system take a while to update? I haven't talked to them in about a month, so I am curious if all is still on schedule.

 

Ordered middle of July, built middle of Sep, have no idea where it is now????

 

i got anxious and called. good news, it's in shipping. i got a raging boner. i ordered this damn thing in may. my current car is on its last leg.

 

haha! ordered mine 6 weeks ago and no VIN yet. my current car is illegal, unregistered, no headlights (major electrical issues), and has A BROKEN STEERING RACK. but hey, it's got a 5MT so i ain't complainin. but seriously c'mon Yota!
