Thought I would post rather than hijack another thread that's ongoing.

Purchased my Tacoma in late June, had the tsb done for transmission done, complained to Toyota about my intermittent shift flare, regional tech looked at it too. They hooked up the techstream to verify codes but found none, also to check transmission level. Opened a case with Toyota Corp, was assigned case manager "Casey" who basically said I have to live with it.

Stopped in dealership today. I questioned the tech how how he checked the transmission level, he said with the techstream, so they never manually verified transmission fluid level.

I am dropping the truck driver off next Thursday nite and will return Friday am to drive with the tech when the truck is currently is cold. How hopefully the transmission will act up.

I have uploaded a few videos on YouTube...search under 2016 Tacoma shift flare if you would like to see it.

I've never experienced the shift flare issue. Got my truck in May of this year. Your truck is still flaring up after the software update?

Closed loop=signal out from source and feedback to source.

Identical problem with my truck. Does it when cold going from 3rd to 4th Casey dude told me no repairs to be made at this time.. Good luck. This has to be a major embarrassment for Toyota. Total let down..

Mine does the same, although I think mine is 2nd to 3rd. Just started too. Never experienced it until approximately 8000 mi. TSB completed at 5000.

Mine does, but only when the truck is "cold", only with moderate to heavy acceleration, and only the first time through the gears for that trip. It's easy to make it happen, also easy to avoid it. Anywhere from a couple hundred RPM to one that I think was about 900.

"When it's cold" means that the fluid is at it's lowest level... once it warms up and expands, it will stop doing dumb things...

    CHECK THE FLUID LEVEL....!!!

Mine was 2 quarts low, I've had the TSB, and it still does this when it's cold if I don't let it warm up. I have a 100K 7yr warranty, so if she goes it, it goes out :)
