Right outside of downtown Aiken really. Below is a map of the area, you enter in an un-gated area on Northland Blvd off Rutland Dr at the bottom of the map (the land is for sale apparently, should still be open but we haven't been in a while). Hopefully the link below works. Other than that there are a few other powerline cuts we've explored that aren't private property or gated.

I gotta be honest... got a loaded TRD Sport with 4x4, tow package, the works... I've been offroad 5 or 6 times in almost 3 years, but I do tow a boat a few times a month.

What I should have done was got a 4x2 with more power.

I took a rented honda pilot down to maklavana (no idea how to spell it). I can't believe that thing made it. I ripped off one of the front wheel wells and some other things as well. The thing had completely bald tires and about 4" of ground clearence. But it was for sure one of the coolest beaches Ive ever been to.

Of course, just use low range and be smart and you can go amazing places with low chance of anything bad happening. Avoid salt water like the plague, if you mess up chances are the truck will be fine, once I bashed my 4Runner driveline on some monster rocks. Had some vibes on the drive home $100 for a new driveline (junkyard) and I never regretted it.

If you don't use 4wheel drive why drive a truck? A Camry would be much more comfortable and efficient

Do the bars on the sides of your rear bumper make it a pain to remove the tail lights or is there enough room?

I have the same bumper, Bruteforce High Clearance, and the tail lights go in and out just fine.

I bought my 4x4 Tacoma because I'm in Montana. And a 2WD only truck makes absolutely no sense in a winter state with mountains, etc.

It's setup to off-road. But it's my Daily Driver primarily!

Best part is she still has 2WD for the trips to and from work! :D

I wheel my DD every weekend and she's starting to hate me for it, clunking/popping/grinding sounds galore :( My coworkers are getting used to seeing me come to work via the Toyota service shuttle lol.

It's all about how you wheel it, and how you maintain it. There are trucks that never see the dirt and break down and fail.

oh believe me I'm practically a hypochondriac when it comes to my truck, I maintain the heck out of it but can't change the fact that it's 12 years old and I really have no clue how the previous 2 owners handled it. I've changed out the suspension, all fluids and regular maintenance in the 6 months I've had it, but rock crawling 2 or 3 times a month takes it's toll. Expensive hobby indeed

Hardcore rock crawling is on the extreme end of the abuse spectrum. I have yet to be left stranded by any of my yotas, but I do all my own mechanic work and I avoid abusive wheeling.

And my Tacoma is over 20 years old too btw
