They will rub. You should have at least a 2" lift with the 255/85/16 on stock wheels. Probably have to do minor trimming and remove the mudflaps too.

I put 265/75r16 Duratrac 6 plys on my truck last weekend. Can't report much other than they performed well swerving to avoid an accident on a rainy day, so they pass that test.

I have 16x8" with 4" BS, and the outer edge of the tire rubbed the mud guards. I removed them and there was barely enough clearance at stock ride height at that same place that rubbed the mud guards, but I later that day installed 5100's @0.85 so there is a little more clearance now. I think the mudguards would fit if you trim that part that rubs. I'll report back once I attempt that :)

Ride is nice, and the stiffer sidewalls make the truck more stable over bumps mid turn. Before with soft sidewalls there was a bit of floaty wobble when hitting bumps mid turn. That has been greatly reduced.

Steering is a bit slower, and acceleration is a little less peppy, but that is to be expected with LT tires :)

Definitely more road hum, but nothing obnoxious. Just enough to let you know these aren't the P rated AT's that came on the truck lol.

I'll report back in a few years after I rack up some miles :p

I haven't had any problems with my KO2's. I ran them all winter and I'm up in Alaska. When we got hit with snow storms I had no problem on the highway or side streets.

Good thread. I'm looking for ideas on tires as well, will be doing a decent amount of off roading (mostly touring and camping)
Winter doesn't really matter to me as I always get proper winter tires (where I live it gets too icy so I always buy proper ice tires)

But looking as well for something thats good on and off road for daily driving then weekend trips.
Hydroplaning for sure is a concern.

    tread wear and noise?
    On road?
Just looking at them on coopers website they don't have the greatest ratings when it comes to on road dry and wet traction.
I know the Cooper muds are amazing many I know run them on their jeeps. But I'm not in the market for a mud, too noisy for my liking.

You can't go wrong with the ST Maxx. It's like a AT+

I never had a problem in dry or wet. No hydroplanung, no spinning on take off, no sliding. They worked quite well in the snow too. They are louder than stock but no where near as loud as my STT Pros

I have had both the BFG KO and the General Grabber AT2. I prefer the AT2. It has an aggressive tread that is smooth on rode, great traction off rode and they are Mountain snowflake stamped for winter use....just my two cents..

I was thinking the same thing.
Everyone seems to run KO2s. They look great but I have read so many reviews claiming they really aren't anything great.
Maybe many that are running them are just mall crawlers

I've driven several trucks on KO's and KO2's. Frankly, they suck.

    I'll look into them then.
Coopers are hard to find here sometimes.
