Bought mine there, have what service I don't do myself done there as well. Had a minor issue first time I took it in as a brand new truck and it coming back with swirls in the paint, but they buffed it out with no hassle. Since then they've been excellent for service - reasonable price since I mostly just have them do inspections, taken care of a couple of recalls and TSBs for me as well. I also get all my maintenance parts there (plugs, filters, washers, etc. - nothing major so far).

 Geez, you must be independently wealthy. I always feel a 1/2 second sting after seeing their parts bill. I can get considerably better pricing, including shipping, from TRDparts4u . I have no experience with them for service on this 4Runner though. The 3rd gen w/ 5VZ-FE is almost maintenance free provided you keep all the fluids, including fuel, topped up with as good as specified or better product qualities. 239k & counting...

HA. I'm like the opposite of wealthy. Like I said, it's just spark plugs, oil filters and such, no major repair parts. I get a little discount because I bought the truck there, but for stuff like filters and crush washers the pricing seems pretty similar. Now, my wheels I definitely ordered from Dallas, and any time I've asked about larger parts (for example the towhook from an off-road) they've had typical dealer prices and I'm sure Dallas/TRDparts4u would be cheaper, even with shipping.

    Terrible.

Their Service Dept. blew a valve job that I still had to pay for, ended up getting it done AGAIN at a different shop that got it right the first time.

I'm out about $2k to those assholes that I'll never see again.

If you didn't give them the chance to make it right then that's kind of on you. Got some more details?

I gave them every chance in the world and they STILL screwed me over. Post valve-job there was an electrical short that they couldn't track down, it took them WEEKS to finally get it.

I'd have to find my bill to get the year this was, but we had some pretty decent snowstorms ('04?) and all we had to get around in was my wife's Mustang (may Og have mercy on our souls).

I wouldn't bother crossing the street to piss on that dealership if it was on fire.

It's where I bought my 2016. I like them. But nobody is perfect. Bo Walser is a sales manager there. He is family and is just the best kind of people. Mark, the store manager is just so awesome. So helpful. Good place to buy or service your truck.

I have my truck there right now for the first time. I called back around the 19th, and the earliest they said they could schedule it was October 13th. Personally, I thought that was pretty crazy, but I knew I was going to be traveling for work, so I dropped the truck off in the hope they could get to it early. Its been there a week and half so far and haven't heard a peep. We'll see how the work goes and I'll update here.

You won't see it until after October 13th.
The far out scheduling is pretty much the norm and gets longer over the winter months. Mine sat last winter for a bit over a month waiting to get the wheel bearings done. I was happy to wait.

Yep. Schedule your maintenances 1,500-2,000mi in advance.

Is this normal for this area? I've always lived in larger population areas and never had these kind of wait times before.

I didn't have this problem 6mo ago. Just seems to have gotten very busy at Pedersen recently. They are the only dealership I've had experience with up here.

Picked up my truck today. They called me yesterday afternoon that it was ready so about a week early, and two weeks in the shop. It was an easy fix and no issues with covering the issue with the warning light.

So I guess just plan ahead for things and try to schedule out since they are really busy. Nice folks.

My experiences have been good overall although I did have to return following a quick lube service last year.. I discovered my truck was leaking oil all over the place shortly after the service, so I called and the manager had me return at closing time and he repaired it himself.
I'm not looking forward to calling them on Monday and discovering the wait time involved to repair a steering column rub that has just started this week..

I recently bought a 2017 Tacoma and had a quote from a dealer further south. I took it to Pedersen fully intending to buy locally from them if they could get close. Spent about an hour and a half while salesman went back and forth with "back room" and kept bringing back quotes and numbers that weren't even specific to the trim I was looking for. Finally told them to give me their best offer and he came back not even close. FYI I gave them the quote from the other dealership when I initially sat down.
Most surprising was that I never heard back after that even though they had me fill out paper with email and phone number when insat down with salesman. Sales Mgr could have easily called back to check if I had purchased and see if they could work something out. They blew an easy sell.
I previously had 2 routine service appointments and No complaints. I'll probably still take my new truck in for service as its local. Parts Dept is MSRP and I've bought any parts I didn't need immediately online as prices always much better elsewhere.

What I discovered during my last service trip is that if it is a scheduled maintenance with nothing extra for them to look at, your vehicle goes to the express line and an appointment can be set just a few days later. If you need them to do repairs/warranty/address a concern..... it could be several months before you get your truck in.

I bought my truck there, certified used. Deal was OK, nothing special. The people I've dealt with there, sales, parts and service, are all nice people. A couple of the service writers can get a little surly if you're there at opening, before they get their coffee and are slammed with tons of cars coming in.

However my overall feeling is they are an average dealership. I really only go there because it's close and also shop online (Toyota of Dallas, Titus-Will, etc.). I have asked them to match online dealerships on price and the guys at the parts window don't argue much so I guess they know they're on a high price schedule. I figure if they can get close it's fine since I don't have to hassle with shipping.
