I just posted the pic for shits and giggles. It wouldn't safely work. The e-brake on bench seat rigs was located in the lower right dash...near your right knee...not in the console. Also, the middle seat belt was secured at the base of the rear wall....something missing on AC and DC models.

I haven't seen a Tacoma bench seat before but seeing that I think the brake will clear it. However the seat belt would be an issue but you could easily mount on the seat brackets. All you need is a lap belt, so it shouldn't be too bad to grab one from some old pickup out of a junk yard or something that should work

I can't speculate on whether the e-brake would clear. Even if it did...you probably couldn't move the seat forward much at all. Legally...all belt points require a shoulder restraint these days.

And what about the seat belt for the middle seat? The seat belt on my regular cabs middle seat also has a shoulder strap attached to the back of the cab below the window.

On the gen-2 it ran up and over the back of the seat and was held in place by a plastic clip/guide on the top of the seat.

I didn't think about moving the seat. However the brake is next to the shifter so I think it should be ok.

As for seat belts I don't see any laws about front seat belts. Especially pertaining to a middle seat. Rear front facing seats require type 2 belts (shoulder and lap). However rear side facing seats can be either or. I would assume because there is no center airbag that a shoulder belt in a front middle seat wouldn't be required

Our trucks are not column shifters so it's pretty much impossible to put a bench seat there
