Now that you own a Subaru you're a true Colorado resident. If you keep it up, you may be able to rock a "Native" sticker on the back of the rex without anyone knowing otherwise:luvya:

But seriously, congrats on getting the additional vehicle. I'm jealous as all hell that you don't have to DD your rig anymore. I'll get there one day...

Honestly, I like driving my slow ass truck better. Hopped in it to help a buddy quarter a moose that was hit by bus after driving the Subaru for a few days and was like damn do I miss this lol Can't wait to fix the long list of things it needs. Then maybe it will be time to through some things at the WRX.

    O helllllllll! No

Honestly I don't know how long I will keep it. It's fun to drive fast but that is going to cost me in one way or another in the long run.

Get the rig fixed up this off season and see where your thoughts are at with the wrx after that. I think the Subaru is an awesome vehicle for getting out of state (if you aren't leaving the state to wheel). I think come spring time I'm going to pull the trigger on a tdi so that I can make some long distance trips next summer. ~50mpg for the win.

That's the plan for now. If it grows on me I might through a forester suspension on it an 30" tires

If I blow up my WRX, that's when it'll get built for even more power. :D

Hoping that doesn't happen anytime soon though.

Last minute, if you want to head this way, we can knock out your axle seals/bearings this afternoon. Otherwise, I might be free next weekend.

I'm headed to the Rockies game. I pulled them out last night and found a guy where I work has the tool so I'm hoping to get to it tomorrow. Both retainers are there. Everything was just pushed on too far

Started having misfires on the wrx :(

But I finally got my wheel bearing replaced and everything put back together just before a trip to Indian Creek to climb. It's tough being in Utah and not wheeling!

Anyway I didn't need any special tools just 2 bearing spreaders and some all thread. It was a little tricky getting everything square but it worked.

Well this was a relief. I started having difficulty finding 5th and reverse gears. Initially I was thinking I needed a new transmission but after a little research found it was likely the ball and socket on the shifter. Ordered the parts from Marlin Crawler which will supposedly last longer than OEM.

    Old ball compared to new

The old socket was completely disintegrated but heres the new.

The shifter is much tighter now, practically no play when in gear. No problem finding gears now either! $30 fix that I thought was gonna be over $400
