Interesting I just did a quick check and Property tax in Md ranges from .85 to 2.2 % and NC is .82 to .95 average I will have to dig deeper into this when the time gets closer. We are thinking central to western NC so hopefully cheaper than the coastal areas

I'm moving up to Rockville in a few months from Fl, and am getting windows tinted this week. How strict are they up there on tint? I know 35% is legal, but was wanting to go 35% front 20% rear. Anyone have trouble with darker tint? I doubt it, but figured I would ask.

There is no law for rear windows, go as dark as you want. Law is only for the front windows.

I appreciate it, but all the sites I'm seeing are saying 35% on all windows.

Truck comes with 20% in the rear glass from the factory, nothing you can do about that and it can't be removed. Don't believe everything you read

Dude, it's written black and white in the vehicle codes. It does specify that ADDING something it has to be 35% or more, but from the factory doesn't matter.

I'm not trying to hop in here and start an argument on tinting laws, but the law is the law. I know I would be breaking it but was wondering if cops really care.

Yeah it is, read it closer. ANY TINT ADDED AFTERMARKET which means the 20% factory tint in the back is exempt from any law. Yes 35% is the law on the front windows, who cares. No one actually pays attention to tint laws here or anywhere else.

Yeah, I understand that. I'm adding aftermarket so the law would apply to me, hence the reason for the question. AGAIN, I'm asking because some places care while most places don't. Just trying to get a feeler out there. Thanks for the input though.

I haven't been here long but I don't think anyone here cares. I can tell you though wait until after your safety inspection is done. You have to have an inspection done before you register the truck in MD. They will fail you for illegal tints.

Thanks for the tip. Is it just a one time inspection to get initially registered there?

I did 20% all the way around my truck and haven't had any problems for the last two years.

Not really sure how the inspections work. I know I had my work van inspected and all they did is plug into it, say have a nice day lol They didn't look at a single thing.

Aha that's where I need to go
Thanks. I'm heavily leaning towards 35/20
    Thanks

I'm military coming from FL, so I'm gonna keep Fl tags as long as I can to get away from that inspection and a front plate.
