I've watched that before, that extended cab was a 2015. It didn't get good results. Ford remedied that for 2016. It now also has the highest rating in class.

Toyota should take notes on how fast they reacted

"The lack of available crash prevention technologies kept Tundra out of Top Safety pick running."
Guess when they put them on next years its bye bye Ford if that rating really meant anything anyway.

So not only does ford have more safety features then the Toyota it also won't paralyze me if I were to get in an accident. The small overlap test was also better in the ford that a huge deal. I'd taking walking away from an accident any day over riding the nuts of a company resting on its laurels. Also ithe tundra scored poor in child seat anchor rating...no thanks my son is worth more then an ugly oversized truck with shit for mpgs

Crawl control is a necessary feature? The people who have used it love it. Just like I'm sure people love trailer assist if the tow a lot.

Don't even get me started on a go pro mount

Those that have used Crawl control like it but at the same time its the same problem.
It gives false security to those that are not skilled enough to be doing it.

Do you really want to see someone who has never towed a thing in their life go out and buy a new f150 or 250 and hook up a big trailer with no experience turning or driving with one and think the only hard part is going to be reversing it so they get something with reverse assist to give them a sense of security?
Its no different than crawl contorl giving amateurs this false sense of security that they can go out overlanding with no experience or recovery gear because the tacoma can crawl its way out of a bog. Or that it will help them go up and down hills with no experience.
Sure crawl control is nice but if your only chance of getting through something is dependant on a control system you might get yourself into some trouble.

I never said it either was a great feature or necessary feature. I was pointing out every car maker has "gimmicky" shit they use to sell their products. Even the all might Toyota

Yeah you're probably be safer in the Ford because it will be in the shop more than Tundra. Ford reliability ratings are way down there that's why they can't give them away even with $10,000 discounts.

The 2016 f150 actually rated much higher in terms of reliability then the Tacoma and tundra

What is wrong with you? Your outdated pos would not make a pimple on a new f150's rear.
Besides hauling much more, the ford is also MUCH more powerful, gets better mileage, and certainly rides better.
I have had 2 tundras, both pretty good trucks but crappy mileage (like your tacoma), old technology ...and yes, they both had some repair issues.
Why don't you share what personal experiences you have had with the F150?

I read review from owners, I go on the forums and see what problems are being posted. I also don't fanboi out over a car manufacturer. I've had a 1st and 2nd gen taco. Came here to read about the turd gen. If anybody thinks the 5.0 in the f150 is unreliable they are crazy. That motor is one of the best period. I am not a fan of the ecoboost though.

My job has me surrounded my trucks. I also hear what problems and positive experiences people are having with them.

Seems pretty easy to break in
    A 2016 Tacoma.

I've heard and had nothing but bad experiences with the eco boost at work. great stuff with the 5L though.

I'm not here to argue with 2016tacoman or anybody else. I'm not a brand loyalist by any means. When I am on the market I research a ton, talk to people and test drive. Whatever suits my needs currently and is the best to do so safely and reliably is what I go with.

All things being equal I would rather be in an aluminum F-150 vs a steel Tacoma in a serious crash. As pointed out vehicle skin has little to nothing to do with safety. It will however make it much more expensive to fix in fender benders etc.

Word homie but walking away and living to repair it is over rated apparently

    Same dude.
I've looked into everything and full size just doesn't meet my needs.
Tacoma fits my needs perfect. Has cheap insurance prices and is a safe vehicle.
Reasonable on fuel but could be better.
Has a rep for being reliable (time will tell for 3rd gens)

Every truck maker has their plus sides and down sides. Doesn't matter who none are perfect.

thing is insurance rates are always highly dependent on safety ratings and I was quoted better rates for a taco vs a f150. So that makes me think the taco is safer.

Either way all these trucks will likely be safer than a car lol.

My 1st gen was probably the best vehicle I've owned along side my Ranger. This second gen has been almost problem free as well. They are a great all around vehicle for sure
