i have a set of old set of 5100's that have the old bottom plates. driver side is thicker to compensate for lean. the shocks themselves are toast but the springs are good(Eibach lift springs) and with a new set of 5100's you could build them and save some coin. Blake has a spring-compressor. PM me if your interested in the springs.

 

i did an arb in the rear only because mines a sport, in the front just gears. i went with completes from ECGS. swapped them both my self . with the front you need two people.its a bitch. a locker in the front is always nice but not nec. the 4.56 gears didn't help a ton with towing liked i hoped but with daily driving its a good set up on the 285's .

 

I just like to stand there and look pretty.

@ffdawson If you want to take my truck for a spin let me know. I have an auto with 4.56's and 35's. It feels stock to me, and if you want more "power" 4.88's is the way to go with 35's. 4.56's would be great on 285's.

Although with all the mods I've done, I didn't take a MPG hit until I regeared, so 4.88 I'm guessing will give you maybe 12mpg. Right now I get anywhere from 14-16. It's not huge but worth taking into consideration.

 

I'm going 4.56 with 34s for now, and then moving up to 35s when the 34s die. With the 6 speed its a hair more power than the auto because of trans gearing

Yeah I'm 6spd on 285's. Really have no plans to jump to 35's.

Really I'm doing it for the towing ability. My truck is pretty sluggish in the hills already. And it's not a DD, so I'm not super worried about MPGS. It'd be good to feel the difference between 56 and 88's...
