I am writing to see if anyone else has had the same issues I have.

1.Once the vehicle is engaged in 4hi, the differential axle screws up and causes the vehicle to spin out of control even at low speed when turning corners. Vehicle wont switch in to 4 low.

    2. The radio. I've had the radio replaced once already and the second one is on the fritz. There are major electrical problems with this truck. Turn the lights on and your radio turns on, turn a corner and your radio turns off. I think Toyota has issued a band aid fix, telling owners that the problem is a defective radio, when the electrical system is to blame.

I think its time for people who have been ripped off by Toyota to band together before someone gets killed.

My best guess is that the rear axle is locking up and the wheels are trying to spin at the same speed. In any case, the back of the truck slides like a drift racer going 10mph while in 4WD while taking a corner.

Yes, my wife's got to drive this thing to work, and I need to get some answers sooner rather than later.

What doesn't make sense? The wheels don't spin at different rates when going around a corner in 4WD, and radio sucks.

Thanks, I'm new to posting on forums. I'm definitely going to try to utilize my warranty, but my dealership hasn't been the most understanding. It was like pulling teeth just to get the radio fixed. Seems like a bad ass truck when it works correctly. Apologies to all for the multiple posts.

I don't understand why a truck with less than 3000 miles could have so many issues. Im glad I've got a manual. I've read about situations where the automatic rev's out of control and downshifts at high speed causing loss of control. Doesn't seem like the Toyota company of 20 years ago.

the thing you gotta remember............there are gonna be lemons every once in a while....i dont care who makes that particular vehicle. and certain probs that are easy enough to fix...just aggravating.

Seems like the dealerships in the Gay Area are out to gouge. Perhaps I'll take it to a dealership in the valley.

Agreed, but take the radio problem for instance. If you type in a search on google about radio problems in the Tacoma, you'll get scores upon scores of posts on various forums, yet Toyota doesn't acknowlege that anything is going on. After pressing the mechanic at my dealership, he finally admitted that theyve seen dozens of these problems and Toyota has been mulling over a TSB. That was 5 months ago. I like the rigs that you guys have, and admire all the prowess with modding and so forth. My beef is with the jerks with the pie charts who think they can make more money by pretending these problems aren't widespread.

Im not sure which gear it was. I think from 3rd to 2nd, it downshifts prematurely in some trucks causing sudden deceleration. Don't quote me on that, do your own search. Thats mybest recollection.
