If i can give any advice, dont mess with a neck injury. I havebeen 2 years with what was suppose to be a minor neck sprain and mild concussion and im still not better. Cant do anything that is hard on it, and when it stiffens up I get dizzy, brain fog, and unfocused. I wish I was more carefull when it first happened and maybe it would have healed better or something, but doctors didnt tell me shit

Good advice with regards to the injury - I'm following the advice of my doctor carefully, doing my best to avoid any long term issues. I do plan on making sure I'm protected in the long run though, just in case.

Yeah...most go by a "permanently attached" rule as to decide what is covered under auto and what is personal property. For example, when my truck was burglarized, my insurance paid for the stereo and components without question. I also convinced them my trailer brake controller (although it wasn't plugged in and was in the glove box at the time) was permanently attached because the wiring wasn't easily removable and I had unplugged it from the loom to reduce the risk of a break in, but the wiring was still permanently attached. But everything else (sunglasses, iPOD, misc wife's jewelry and a few other things) they wanted me to claim under my renters policy because they considered it "personal property". I don't know how they could claim a winch and accessories bolted to the truck are permanently attached and not covered under the auto policy.

Yeah, a winch that's bolted to your vehicle shouldn't be excluded. That's worse than excluding the radio or the spare wheel!

Still without a vehicle, save for the '06 tundra DC a kind friend has been generous enough to lend me. He has two, both with very high miles and were used heavily with a lot of off road used by a mining exploration company. The one I borrowed has 372,500 km on it, and while it still needs a bit of TLC, it runs and drives awesome, pretty amazing considering the history. I'm going to look at a 2008 Tundra 4.7 this week, will miss the 6spd manual if I do, but I can't replace my Tacoma for what the insurance adjuster is saying is a fair value. The fight goes on.

Ouch, glad to hear you are doing alright - that vid is nightmare stuff..
That corner always was sketchy.. I was glad when we moved out of SA and didn't have to take it all the time.

    Now I'm looking for a G90..

Also glad you walked away from that.
Makes me glad i choose a tacoma if can protect its occupants in a collision like that.

One funny post to road and track suggested they fill airbags with popcorn like the jiffy pop versions so it would not only protect you but give you something to eat while you wait for the police/... to show up.

Still without a truck - I can't find a replacement Taco for what my insurance payout was, am keeping my eyes open for a 2nd gen Tundra at this point. 1/2 of me says an upsize makes most sense, 1/2 of me says I'll miss the nimbleness of the Tacoma - most likely both halves are correct.

The last time I I had an auto totaled and the insurance money came in way low, I just asked them to replace it. I told the adjuster that he might be able to replace the auto for his low ball price but that I couldn't do it. I gave them a week to find me one and then got an extra $2300 out of them.

I've been fighting them for weeks, with no success. Legal action is the next step, unless I'm proven wrong and can find a replacement for similar $$, not happening so far.

The way Tacos have sky rocketed in price the last 6 years, its going to be impossible to find a Taco at that price unless you go close to the same year as your totaled one.

I'm not sure about the laws in Canada or the way the insurance companies work up there. In Texas, I have full coverage auto insurance that would help me in the case of uninsured or underinsured person causing accident with me. They would cover my loss and go after the insurance company of the at fault person.

Here in BC, the insurance "company" is a government corporation where "basic insurance" is mandatory - additional liability insurance, collision, and comprehensive can be purchased from ICBC (Insurance Corporation of British Colombia) or through private insurers. So basically, no one is going to fight for me, or the other driver, as it is in the corporations best interest to pay as little as possible, and since they have protected jobs in a government corporation, their service is horrible.
