Shop I just departed from has "Detailers" as Sub-contractors.....No real overhead as they get paid per unit

 

thanks but body shops that do insurance work are required to have icar certified techs. at least here they are. the service writer that was handling my wifes rav at the body shop when she was wrecked laughed she said she'd worked with several guys like me old and self taught. they did great work but the young guys with the papers got all the work

 

if you weren't so godawfully far away i'd happily do it

I've seen guys do aluminum fuel tanks. Would take you all weekend just on the hull.

 

it would be x rated by the time greg got me going and i started cussin'. your rt you are where you are and i'm a long way off

 

polishing the aluminum is a pain in the ass by the time you sand it several times to get it fine enough to polish. besides a shiny boat would probably scare the fish away

That's why I never started preserving it. I knew it was a losing battle and I wanted to fish instead of clean.

you have to recertify every couple of years i was not in a circumstance where i could at the time

 

I have to do that this winter before spring.It really sucks. I'm going to split them up this time. Hopefully my last time taking them
