I tried the headlight polish and found it didn't do too much to help.

And the film protector is an awesome idea. If someone decides to start selling them I will buy some. I need to find a bulk sheet of it. And wait until I get s new replacement lense

    I'll ask him.
I almost feel if you got a good paper template you could find some sort of Autocad software or something that could copy it and convert it to something a CNC could use to cut the sheet.
I'll have to ask my friend see what can be done.

    try flitz https://www.amazon.com/Flitz-LQ-045...8&qid=1475460158&sr=8-1&keywords=flitz+polish
thats what I used worked great on mine.

I wonder how hard it would be to get a vector file of the cluster so you can use any sort of vinyl decal cutter to cut the zagg shield

Thank you. And yeah I figure there wouldn't be much of a point on him trying to sell them but thought I'd ask anyways.

I'll ask him what type of file it needs to be and see if I can get my software to format to that file.
I'll try and get a good measure on the taco dash, if I get a good one and am happy with the results maybe I can see about getting it made and maybe selling it on here.

Maybe if I can find a good size protector I can just cut them myself. Just make a wood template. Something strong that I can just follow as a guide with an exacto knife to cut them. If it comes out good I'll just cut them for whoever wants.

I am thinking about getting a new one and immediately throwing some ZAGG film over the top. Should resist scratching much better.
Anyone know where buy bulk (quality) film?

    yes thank you!

and next concern and question is i wonder how hard it is to remove the gauge cluster. Iv removed tons from other vehicles but was curious if there is any clips or odd plugs that are easily breakable.
just since its a brand new truck with less than 6000 miles on it.

Trim ring pops out and then removes a few screws. That's it

I lightly sanded mine with 1500 grit sand paper and cleared it with Non yellowing UV resistant clear paint and it looks great with no more scratches.

I have used paper towels as a fine sand on Sheetrock. Works pretty well if you don't have sandpaper.

    ^^^^ This.

Paper, even tissues like Kleenex, are horribly abrasive. Fine for uncoated glass such as windshields, but never ever use paper towels or tissues on anything plastic.

    This.

Swiffer is the only thing I use on mine and don't have a problem with scratches.
