Archon's Forge is dropping up to 385 on the Purple offerings

 

I forgot to mention (if no one has already), if you go into the Archon's Forge and no one is there or you don't have a offering on you walk out the back of the forge behind the main boss area and walk down the tunnel. Kill a few adds at the big room that opens up in the tunnel then turn around and "walk" back up to the forge. It will put you into a instance. I've never not had this work and then you can spend as much time in there as someone should always have a offering. They drop pretty often in there so it is almost always going. I spent about an hour in there. Collected some good loot and never ran out of offerings.

 

You suck, I just had to gring out a 355 weapon to infuse with my Bad JuJu. I am slowly leveling up my four exotic primary weapons. They're all in the 350-358 range now. Mida really does own in the Crucible if you know how to use it and avoid body shots.

 

Yea, leveled up Dead Orbit, Vanguard and Cryptarch twice yesterday and still struggling to climb.

I dont know how you guys are doing it or what secret you have. Cause this shit is getting old fast. Ive been on a constant uphill for 3 months straight since i started playing. Guys that just restarted days ago are passing me.

 

Im always wearing the best gear when i level and have been wearing the best as i play in general

 

IIRC you are mid 350's?

The reason you have "some" people passing you is because they have been playing since launch or for quite a long time. I've played this game since launch so when the expansions come out I start stocking up on engrams, leveling my factions to almost rollover the night before, and then stock up on heavy ammo, weapon parts, motes of light, etc... What this allows you to do is play through the new story missions and once you finish start buying into your factions for 350 armor. Once you have that you have to grind for blues (and legendaries) in strikes and Archon's Forge. DO NOT!!!!!! open a exotic until you reach 365 or you will be wasting them. I cannot emphasise that enough.
After you reach 365 it gets much harder to level. My ghost is holding me back right now and there is nothing I can do about it. Everytime I go to Dead Orbit, Shaxx, or the Vanguard I can not get a ghost to drop to save my life. So I'm stuck farming for exotics and doing the raid to level up.

It is a grind but Light Level really doesn't matter all that much once you hit 370-375. You can finish the raid at 370 easy and level up that way. You can get every Boss down in the raid at around 355 except for Aksis Prime.

Honestly... grind Archon's Forge and do the little trick I mentioned earlier. You will get pieces higher than your current level. That said YOU MUST have your highest light level items equipped when doing the Forge (or strikes). If you don't it will not drop items in higher light level. It will drop items that are a estimate of your current light level because of the items you have equipped.

Remember with ToC's there is a cooldown on how many you can pop in a certain amount of time. They also stack so if you use one and get nothing it stacks with the next one you use and so on. Over time the stack will be high enough your odds will be better for getting drops. If you log out of that character the stack resets to zero and you start all over.
I farm The Eye of the Gate Lord since I have a check point there and the Silent Scream Hive boss on the Dreadnaught. Those are the only two I farm if I'm not doing strikes. Do not waste your ToC's in the Forge. They don't work there.

Thanks, I did Archons for hours with that new app and farm mode. I had an almost full vault when i got back. After many trips back and forth between the kiosk and cryptarch, still didnt work.

Its pure luck.

Also, i cant just hold exoctics cause its the only thing that seems to be dropping higher

 

If you have your highest light level items equipped when doing the forge, when you get a legendary drop it "should" drop at a higher light level (especially class items). The engrams that you have to decrypt "most likely" will not decrypt higher. You have to rely on the drops that you do not have to decrypt.

 

All my other characters are mid 370 just because I drop my items that I replace and infuse them into the my other characters.

Twice I had a blue drop with higher level. That hasn't happened since day 1 otherwise.

Ive been following all the tips tricks to the letter. Its just not happening at the "half the rate" Bungie stated it should.

Purples at best have been +1

 

If you're lucky enough to get a skeleton key ALWAYS pop the chest at the end of the strike. It "should" give you higher light level items no matter what as long as you have your highest light level equipped. Once again LL doesn't matter all that much. Run the Raid and you will level up fast through the first few bosses.

 

I've not had any trouble leveling light level other than my fucking ghost.
