What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

So in the last couple weeks I have done:

Tundra brake mod
New steel lines
Manual rear BPV
Crank the Kings just a touch
Added front superbumps with custom mounting spacers
Rear superbumps
Axle relocation plates
Cooper st maxx 255/80r17 on 2nd gen alloys for now
Welded up some FrankenFab slim sliders and installed them
Added mounts for a second phone
Tablet mount
New ham radio face plate mount
Added aprs ham radio
Two roof antennas



Whew..


And this was just dropped off..

 

Finally an add-on or mod that isn't gonna take a bunch of work, right? You've been busy that's for sure. What ended up being the deal with your brake pressure issue?

Not totally sure yet. I still haven't swapped my master cylinder down a size yet. I will though. For the better of the tacoma world haha if it's better I'll just go back to the even smaller stock one.

Don't worry. I have hundreds. Just need to edit and do the write ups. Which may be a while as I'm fixing to go on a two week trip

 

not today, but over the weekend i plasti derped my wheels and painted my grille/markers to match the pickup

 

Ideally under hard braking the rear tires should lock up just slightly before the fronts do right?

I was messing around yesterday and my fronts lockup long before my rears do on pavement.

Fronts should lock up first.
On dirt, front first with just a hint or better of rear lockup.

 

I gotta say. Didn't notice much of a difference with the manual Bpv. Did you?

Actually I did, I can lock up the rears first on the pavement if the valve is fully open. I have it set about midway on the valve now. How are your rear shoes? I noticed the best performance after I replaced the shoes with OEM.

 

Probably need replaced honestly.

Need to do that. And tie rods. LBJs and swap my mc this winter.

So do mine. And my stupid bpv is froze up again.

 

Not today but over the weekend I installed some new seats. I believe they are out of an 08 VW Jetta. The drive side has power tilt. Had to do custom brackets for them.

Last night I had a dream that Ol' Red was "clicking/clunking" when turning right. For shits and giggles I looked under there today and alas...






Looks like my passenger side CV boot (inner most) is shot... and it's crapping grease all over the place.

Jon gave me a spare CV awhile back that needs to be rebooted. Are these side specific? I assume not.

Would it be best to do both my driver's and passenger's side at the (relative) same time?

My plan was to reboot and pack w grease Jon's CV he gave me. Slap that on the passenger side. Then take the CV I just removed, reboot and pack w grease, and then slap that on the driver's side.

This is of course if I'm capable of removing, rebooting, repacking and replacing these things.
