Just put the order in during lunch today on my 2017 DCSB OR 4X4 M/T with Premium/technology package, TRD PRO exhaust, towing package and tonneau cover. Paying $500 over invoice + $950 shipping charge. Before dealer/reg fees I was quoted at $35,934.00. Should be here in 6-12 weeks. Frickin stoked. Expecting about $37k-37.5k out the door after tax and dealer fees.

I could be wrong, but I believe the $25 per $1000 excise tax rate is for the entire state, not just particular towns? And I think your math may be slightly off. I only say that because I've been crunching the numbers on a new 2017 DCSB Offroad myself!

According to the depreciation chart on the Mass.gov website, based on a purchase price of $38,000, only 90% of the sale price the first year is taxed at the $25 per $1000. Then the depreciation rate drops to 60% the second year, 40% the third year, etc. etc. So using their formula, 90% of $38,000 taxed at $25 per $1,000, is roughly $855.

Where you at? I'm looking for the same build minus the exhaust and tonneau. Was quoted 36,700.

I'm in Santa Fe NM, Don't know what the dealer fees are going to be that my salesperson mentioned, I'm not too concerned about it as he's a friend of a good friend I was referred by. Taxes, title and registration for a 1 year reg come out just over 1100 here in NM.

Not sure if you mean Doc Fees? They run all over the place, my dealer was 95 + 135 = $230

The other dealer I went to first their doc fee was $500

    Pretty crazy

This is the exact reason why negotiation on an Out-the-Door basis is the way to go. It forces them to provide the all-in price and reduces the risk of surprises.

As the buyer, strive to control the variables. Know your credit scores. Know what you can get for financing. Know what you can get for your trade at a place like Carmax. Budget your deal on those numbers, and if the dealer can do better certainly go with it.

The way to get bent over the desk is to walk in and negotiate an "invoice plus $x" price without knowing the fees, your finance options, or the value of your trade.

    Hi,

I'm looking to order a 2017 DCLB 4x4 OR from a dealership. I'd like to know what people mean when they say "I paid $500 over invoice +ttl". I've found the invoice pricing to be a little trickier than what's listed in the 3rd Gen Tacoma Model/Package/Option Costs Master List thread. Does this "500 over invoice" include the TMF fee or are these people paying the invoice pricing listed on TW plus 500 plus TTL? The latter would be awesome but I find it hard to believe people are getting a $1000+ fee taken off from the dealership in addition to getting a big discount from MSRP.

Had to pay MSRP for mine, which was expected. Then again, seeing how some TRD Pros have dealer markups, I'm not overly disappointed.

Most of the "deals" are worked for. You need to reach out to multiple dealerships, some are flying to other states. Get your feelers out to at least.

So that's $2407 below MSRP with all included except TTL. That's a pretty decent deal for a 4x4 OR from what I've seen.

Tubes and tip are easily unbolted and removed, so it’s possible you might talk them into removing them. Just make sure they (or you) put in the six plastic screw/plugs unless you'll be adding your own steps/tubes.

Tonneau cover though means you'll have the cut rails, so if it's very important to not have that cover, you may want to keep looking or start finding someone nearby who wants an OEM cover and arrange to swap rails/cover/etc. Personally I like the OEM cover but I realize it doesn't work for everyone.

Why don't you just order what you want. Why pay for options you do not want. That is a decent price not sure how much your taxes are

I'm located near Houston and got a quote from Costco Auto authorized dealer. It's for a 2017 DCSB TRD OR 4x4 MT with tow package and carpets. Can't avoid the carpets from what it seems like. Quote was for $34,755 plus TT&L ($2,475 based off of carmax calculator). I was hoping for 33K before TT&L. Is that possible?

He quoted an Auto instead of a Manual. Looks like I'll be able to get it for 33k.

Just joined the forum, I purchased a 2017 Tacoma on 9/30. I live in Orange County, California & shopped for my vehicle for approximately 2 weeks. I purchased mine from a local dealer (Rancho Santa Margarita) that had the exact truck that I wanted. The average discount that I was offered was in the $1,200 range (off sticker) after contacting & negotiating with several dealers within a 80 mile radius of my house. I ended up purchasing a TRD Off Road DCSB 4x2, with bed mat, all weather mats, exhaust tip, tow package, and the Karr alarm chip for $32,145.00 (before taxes and fees), sticker was at $33,700. I really wanted the 4x4 but the 4x2 has the electronic rear locker so I passed on the additional cost. I already have a JKU Rubicon for my wheeling, this truck is more for my urban excursions. I did get 1.79% financing from Navy Federal Credit Union which help a lot.
