I have a wetjet too! Does nicely on the kitchen & bathroom floors.

I just wish the 'cleanser' bottles were re-fillable. As in - pour my own solution in the bottle so I don't have to keep buying their stuff.

Well kinda late since Janster has already bought a new one. But here is my 2cents anyways. We have a Eureka bagless and really like it. We borrowed our daughters Dyson and didn't really notice a better job. So we won't buy 1.

Yo, we ran into this same deal. What we did? Just got the cheapest one that has the "good housekeeping" seal of approval. They independently test these things and they even extend the warranty. So check it out, and if you like my idea, then...well you know what to do LOL.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't know you bought one already.

    No problem!

I was about ready to just got out and buy anything with a decent brand name. My husband likes the Dysons - and I've heard nothing but good things from folks at work, and here (plus researching online). When I discovered I could get one under $300 (ended up being $260 no tax, free shipping) - I thought I'd get one.
Otherwise...no way in hell I'd spend over $300 for a vacuum cleaner no matter what brand it was!

Hopefully I'll be happy with it..and it'll last as long as my Phantom (which is still running after 13 years).

Hey Janster, all you need is something that really sucks like the Carolina Alliance.

I just checked consumer reports. The top rated bagless models are Kenmore (Sears) Progressive with Direct Drive 36932 and Bissell Healthy Home 5770

I'd take it down a bunch of notches, you want to suck up any floor boards.

After reading this thread, I ended up buying a Dyson Animal (DC14, I think). It's used...about 6mo old, but I got it for $250. Wow, this thing is pretty impressive! It seems like my carpets aren't as "flat/matted" anymore.

I've got an American Eskimo dog, and I couldn't believe how much fur this vacuum sucked out of the carpets...you could almost put together a puppy with it.

Thanks for starting the thread, Janster...it definitely helped me a lot, too!:D

    Finally got it today!!

I really like this thing. It's similar to my phantom with all the attachments and how they work/connect to the wand/such. So there's nothing to learn in that aspect. I like how everything comes apart. The attachments seat nicely on the sides....

We just vacuumed 2 days ago - and vacuumed again today and the dyson picked up a lot of 'dust' bunnies!! NICE!!!

The one thing that doesn't impress me....or perhaps there's something I need to do to it? I bumped up againest the wall at the front of the vacuum (not even hard) and it made a nasty noise. Like something (plastic?) was bumping up againest the beater brush.....I've got the *Target DC07 model"

The auction we bought this from said it came with the low-reach floor tool. That wasn't in the box - so we've gotta contact the seller about it.
