So I've tried searching here and haven't come up with anything, I'm wondering if anyone makes an aftermarket y-pipe that is re-routed around the transfer case to aid in off road clearance and also is built to be high flow for some added power. The afe and urd offerings I have found do not specify, since they all claim they are for "off road" use since they delete some cats. Is there any thing out there? Is the performance gain even enough to worry about or should I just have an exhaust shop re-route the pipe? Thanks in advance

The urd 4x4 ypipe is re-routed around the transfer case and gives you that extra little clearance

Its there spec u exhaust that will go around the t case and transmission. There off road y pip goes under then back up. They took the spec u off there site to redesign because of the rasp. Just call urd and see when it will be back out. But you want the spec u exhaust it's a whole exhaust system. There 4x4 y pipe will hang below the frame of the transmission.

Ah yes I kne it went there some where (installed 2 years ago) but it did give me more clearance and the ability to run a flat skid plate instead on one that works around the stock ypipe

Doug Thorly Pipe Bomb. Deletes rear cats though. If you want to keep the cats, I believe a reroute is your only option.

That's why I said if you want keep the cats you'd have to do a reroute instead. That's my truck. I know they're resonators.

There are 4 catalytic converters on a stock truck. The 02 sensors are between the front and rear cats. You can delete the rear cats, which the Pipe Bomb does by replacing them with the resonators, and not throw any codes because there are no sensors down stream of them.

The "rear cats" are still in the front of the truck. They're just behind the ones that are directly attached to the manifolds.

I honestly don't know. I just know they're resonators and not cats. I only cared about ground clearance. I didn't care about performance at all. Honestly, with these pigs, the only thing you're going to feel a difference with is forced induction. Sad but true.

    yes.

Honestly, OP. take it to an exahust shop. they should be able to cut out that cross over and re route it properly for pretty cheap.

Sonnuva gun, imma have to second guess things now. I just tried to pass a fishtape thru my stock ypipe. Guess what?
    It was STOPPED.

    Very interesting

Thanks for the replies! So, I think I'll probably have one fabbed up for now. But, since a supercharger is on my list in the future (like years) I can upgrade to a higher performance one then with headers and the whole deal. I know when I had my dakota r/t it took a completely redesigned true dual exhaust from the heads back to make any real difference. Most people just wasted money with shorty headers, pieced together y-pipes and catbacks... I don't want to do that

Would be nice to compare custom stuffs, with off the shelf stuff. Theres already a few sheets here and on xru for off the shelf parts.

I wish there were places closer with a dyno, I'd have to drive 2.5 hrs each time to go to Atlanta or Charlotte. On my r/t I ended up having it tuned through datalogging because the time back and forth to the dyno would have been torture.
