Yeah i got that mixed up. Oh well. Still think my rear brakes need to be doing more, I do have a BPV bracket/lift but I think the aftermarket shoes in my drums are junk.

Build for the Truck? or just the seat install?

Yeah, they do sit higher, a little higher than I was hoping but I had my buddy who is 6' sit in the passenger seat and he's got a good 4-5 inches from the headliner.

Do I really need this hood
Insulation? ^^^ what purpose does it serve? My guess would be to save the paint from engine heat?

    This.
I removed mine last year, should have done it long ago. Not all trucks came with it either, so not sure what it does.

The only purpose is to deaden the sound of the fan when you first start up the truck. After the fan clutch frees up, the fan is not so loud.

Thanks, it's going in the trash tomorrow. It's super brittle now anyways.

Hmm? Well mine definitely has some heat wrap/tape underneath the foam part as well. So this leads me to believe they designed it to block heat exchange as well?

Curious to know what you find out, as mine is also starting to come off and looks ugly. However, it appears to have heat wrap as well as insulation to dampen sound.

Just remove it. My 99 I removed it cuz it was falling apart. My 03 never had any when I bought it.

    My '98 V6 had it, but my ,04 V6 didn't. Wife's '98 4 cylinder didn't.

I'm sure in warmer areas, the insulation did help with saving the paint.

Either way mine is coming off, out of curiosity though I just did some Googling and I read that supposedly it only came in the 95.5-00 3.4 v6. And left off the 2.4 and 2.7
