Well it was a good idea at first, but i ran into a few TSB's that had to be done. The intermediate steering shaft was defective, as well as the temperature door actuator-this is a $300 part that opens the door behind the dash, these repairs totaled right at $1000; all within the first 3 months i had the vehicle-they ended up refunding me the money i spent, caused i bitched until i got it right. Idk, i just had a lot of problems w it.
The paint also seemed kind of thin-took a lot of maintenance-toyota has the best paint in the business, imho

There are a lot of people on this board who will disagree w/ your opinion of the paint. Look around a bit and you'll find plenty of folks bitching about chips in their paint.

FWIW, mine's held up fine. But still...

Well maybe it was operator error lol....
I'm just saying that its glad to be back...after I bought this 2nd Taco, it just felt like home, thats all :D
BTW....seeing that the weather may cooperate this w/e, i plan to finish installing the DNX5120 that came out of the tahoe, changing out the speakers for Polk 6.5", and installing the Recon LOF; as far as mods go, I'm going deep this time, but it will take a while to get there. I have my punch-list and hope to have a lot done by spring...

Well I'm considering getting a Jeep now, instead of the Tacoma. Unless I can find a way to keep the Taco as my DD and drive the jeep ocasionally.

Well I hardly use the bed anyways, and yea if I can find a deal on one I probably will, but after a little conversation with my step-dad, he's gonna continue to look and hopefully we can find either a TJ or JK that's been wrecked and the owner doesn't want to fix up and will sell cheaper so, we can build it up! But I do believe at this moment I'll be keeping the Tacoma.

Well I have been a member for a while just haven't posted much. I've been itching bad to hit some trails. I have been in Auburn for over a year but I am making it offical on 2-26 when I close on a new house.
Once that goes down work can resume on the Tacoma.

Anywhere to ride in the plains? Had great trails in Shelby County when I was there.

Mainly saying hello while I figure this site out.

Thanks. Well the wife and I are pack up our house in Alabaster over the next 3 weekends. Been living out of a box for the past year waiting on my house to sell.

I could always use an extra hand. I'll be fabing a skid plate and some rock sliders next month when I get settled in. Can't wait to get all of my tools in one place!

Ah yes Beaureguard. i've been around there a time or two. A few guys around the Fire Department mentioned the National Forst just outside of Tuskegee. Know anything about that?
