Even still you'd have to get it real real cheap to justify your time and materials

This is a joke, right? There is an obvious answer here.

Yes. You should definitely buy it, and over pay while you're at it.

I mean, if the rest of it is in decent shape and you can get it for a steal, then it could be worth it to just part it out if you have the time. Could make a solid profit that way.

To reiterate what others have said, check if it's under warranty or was repaired, although if you can see rust it either wasn't repaired or didn't work. I've heard horrible things about wait times to get a new frame even when it is under warranty, so you should probably just pass. Good luck!

I was just quoted 8 months on a second gen frame replacement.

I don't care if it takes 5 years, they put you in a new rental all free of charge.

You know, more detail would help your internet consultants.

The answer based on the info you provide is 'maybe'.

Anyone who gives another answer is assuming information you didn't provide.

No way. Though Toyota did take my '03 and undercoated the frame with a thick tar-like goop for free but why inherit that problem if you don't have to?

Not to OP, but to those who respond. No. Stop it.

Threads like this should just be ignored until the the OP cares enough to provide some info.

Well since the OP never came back I guess we will never find out what the rest of the truck was like.

Depends what you want to do with it. If you want something to plant a garden in on the front lawn, I dont see the rust being an issue.

It pretty much comes down to your skill level if you even have to ask about buying a truck like this most likely you should pass .

I could use another Tacoma so in my case .

It would come down to price I would tender a offer if the seller took it ok if not another will be along .

I did not see the Op come back since the first post.

It is a shame people selling these trucks still think they should bring top dollar not a little above scrap price depending on the rest of the Truck

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
4600lbs to be exact lol that's what mine weighs anyway. Probably lighter if it's rusted bad though.
