Yikes! Didn't think about that... The cell was a small cage in back for one maybe two people. Rest of lab was huge in comparison Looked at it like wet lab with high power feeds going out to some test in the dist....but....they did do chem wep testing on sheep at one time....scary

Howdy again.....another fun way the hell outta way in the desert find was a single cable two man gondola over the Rio Grande river. Drove for hours through Indian lands...BLM..National Forest....politely chatted and on our way...midnight drinking. One 1971 K-5 Blazer and the 1981 4WD Toyota the....Anti -Christ. Single cable with hand over hand pulls on the cable to pull yourself in. Sitting swaying in the wind 100 feet over a rushing river plowed was Pretty Damn Fun!

I found a moose skull WITH antlers a few days ago...it was either poached or disease kill. As there was nothing salvaged on the animal. It was maybe 50yds off the side of a dirt road. So I braved the stink and saved the skull. I'll euro mount it later once the smell subsides...not a big guy but still a nice find.

no velvet on the antlers so i'll be ok there, it does however have skin and some tissue...I think the maggots got most of the meat though sot thats good. I just have to find a pot big enough to hold the skull...I might have to hit the second hand stores or maybe I'll use a canning jar pot, not my wifes...she'd kill me if I used hers or I'd be buying her a new one! LOL

You can claim hardship though as far as vehicles go. But your guns...you won't see them back for a while.

    Just the basics
These were found several years ago while adventuring out near Landers...
Apparently the CH-46 had to set down for engine problems. The crew spent the night in the desert and the CH-53 brought replacement parts out the next day.

I've been wanting to explore a particular area of Bucks County that's not too far from my house. Geographically this is about as remote an area you can find in Bucks. The only way to get to it was by foot or in my case today: mountain bike.

I knew there were two old abandoned bridges that are not too far from each other. The first is over the little Neshaminy Creek on what used to be Grenoble Rd. The area is surrounded by huge multi-acre estates with gated driveways. The road itself is closed off and only leads to a remote Municipal Dumping Lot.

    Here's the access road:

Directly behind me is the old bridge abutment:

If I had to guess I'd say it's been since the 60's since there was actually a bridge there...

The opposite side is a working pig farm and there's an old truck parked on the opposite abutment.

The center piling has seen better days...

    Closer shot of the top:

The other way to access this area is by the Ivyland-Newhope Rail line. Although this too has seen better days there was evidence of recent repair activity and many replacement ties lined the sides of the tracks.

I've got a full frame suspension Mountain Bike so I was able to ride between the rails for much of the time.

Up about 1/4 of a mile from where the old Grenoble Rd. crosses the track I found an old passenger car flipped on its side on an old siding:

Looking back down the tracks you can see the passenger car off to the left in the distance:

A little further down found evidence of recent tie replacement:

    Really pretty rock cut
    [IMG]

Exceptional rock outcrop next to the creek
    [IMG]

    Late fall blooms
    [IMG]

    Currently dry spillway:

Yeah - had to go in.

I headed back at this point because several of the million $ estates were within clear eysight of the rail line & I didn't want to attract unwanted attention.

The last pics are what is left of an old covered bridge that used to cross the Neshaminy Creek at Rushland Rd.
This area is part of the Bucks County Parks system so I wouldn't be pissing off anyone being there - in fact it is a popular fishing spot.

    The abutment is barely visible:

    Down on the creekside
    [IMG]

Very difficult to see but the opposite side abutment is dead center:

You know its been there for a while when there is a foot and a half diameter tree growing right in the middle of where the bridge entrance used to be.

Looking directly at where the bridge would have been - you can barely see both sides of the abutment.

I've been wanting to explore these spots for quite some time & finally got the chance to do it today. Very nice weather too. :D
