What?? no, just discussing the parts and such for the other motor...

    Well to clear things up.
    >Im building a second motor for more power
    >but that wont happen till later
    >At this moment Im discussing parts for the spare motor, rods, crank cams etc...

I had previously said that a high power N/A 5vz would be cool, but that's not what I'm going to do.

SO to all be on the same page, I'm working on building a fully forged 5vzfe.

    We all good? :D

Wait. You want to make a Tacoma with a lot of power? It's a truck. Don't you know you're on TW. Should have bought a fast car. :p

    5100's, All Pro 3" Standard leafs, 32" KM 2's
mid 13's on 32" mud tires would be epic.

@Torspd I'm guessing runs mid 11's to low 12's. Could definitely drop into the low 11's and possibly 10's at that power level but would need drag style suspension and tires, think he's more built for road racing?

Oh yeah this, forgot about this. THis video is a slight train wreck on my end as a lot of the recorded footage sucks.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdVrrI4RL50&feature=youtu.be
I also Figured out that the difference between the 5vz rods and VQ rods is 2.997 millimeters Which I think could just be milled off the top of the 5VZ pistons...

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
I could be wrong, but wouldn't milling the pistons down just create a massive weak point toward the middle of the piston? It would probably be easier to have custom pistons made. Granted this is my first foray into building a performance motor and not just a basic rebuild so i'm still new to a lot in the performance aspect.

IM not sure...In some cases yes that would happen but in other cases the piston is plenty thick enough. Just depends on how LCE forges them.

You'd have to give them the specs, it would move the wrist pin up some to accomdate the height difference, if there is enough material and room to do so.

Just tried to get the distance from the top of the piston to the wrist pin bore center for LCE''s 9.0:1 comp pistons and they didn't have that info. Since Stock compression ratio is 9.6:1 I wonder if using LCE's 8.5:1 pistons would net enough clearance to clear the longer rod...Regardless the LCE tech didn't seem all to happy to find info and I don't have any money to buy the pistons yet anyway so I'll try again a different day :D

not a budget friendly engine to build on for the amount of power youl end up with. If i was looking for anything over 350hp reliably and cheap id just slap an ls in there with a few bolt ons. actually... that might just happen.

Oh yeah forgot about that swap...Eh I'll see what stock makes then weigh my options. Nothing at this moment is set in stone aside from making more horsepower stock. This build thread was almost an LS swap thread but I changed my mind. In retrospect I sorta regret not going the ls route as it would make more power for around the same amount of money...My concern was time and complexity, however I've been told the swap doesn't take too long, I felt it was gonna be WAY more in depth than a turbo and at the time it wasn't something I really wanted to tackle so that's why I went turbo and didn't do an ls swap.
