Check your tire pressure and fill up to proper pressure even the spare tire and it will cut off

I've also read some places that this light may have something to do with a potential issue with the O2 sensor, catalytic converter, emissions, etc. Is there any validity to this? I mainly ask because mine too just came on and I'd love for it to just be tires low on air.

Tricked out dents on the outside and custom love stains on the inside. To many citiations to count, but one hell of a sweet ride.
It's just low air in one of your 5 tires. If the symbol is blinking on the other hand.... you have a dead tpms

    Not at all.

All that other stuff is covered by a different light. The 'Engine' light, commonly called a CEL (check engine light). These have been around for 20+ years across all marquees.

BTW, while it's certainly a great idea to keep your spare aired up, I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a TPMS sensor in it. My '13 doesn't. Somewhere along the way they quit putting them in spares. It's one reason they are marked temporary use only. Even when it's a full size tire that matches what's on the ground.
