This doesn't surprise me at all.

I've been in those stores a few times for kids birthday parties and the whole time strange kids were shaking me down for money. You tell them no and their families would always say "it's just a quarter/dollar, what's the big deal."

"If it's not such a big deal then why won't your broke ass give them money." Every time after that I was threatened with violence. One of the perks of having the only one close to East St. Louis. I tell them all the same thing. "Put hands on strangers in a CCW state and you might end up with more than just hurt feelings."

One thing that makes me say WTF is that nobody's shot any of those clowns yet, the ones that are running around chasing people with machetes and shit. Somebody jumps out of the woods and and runs towards me with a machete, they get to have a staring contest with my Shield whether they're wearing a clown suit or not. :notsure:

And I'm flying there Thursday morning. Been to ST. Louis a few time and mostly stay in downtown. I've always had fun and been with a crowd most the time. There's some great places to eat and drink in downtown.

I believe it, that sounds like just about every city out there.
For whatever reason our route from the airport took us pretty close to some really bad areas. Just where the freeway was routed I guess. This was also several years ago

Idiots around the nation dressed up as creepy clowns jumping out trying to scare people, some getting assaulted etc...Im not a fan of clowns on the normal day add them trying to be creepier than normal and its a recipe for some clown to get shot and killed.

Yep, made that drive a few times and know what you're talking about. We were out one night with one of my buddies who is about 6'8" and a little stocky when one of the "locals" came running out of an alley and up to him and said "I'll beat you on the field but you'd whoop my ass in the ring" then ran back into the alley. He just turned at us and said "welcome to the Lou" like nothing happened.

I got an email from Austin Independent School District,
    "Dear Austin ISD Community,

The safety and security of all students is our top priority. With that in mind, I am writing to update you about an ongoing situation. Austin ISD police are investigating multiple social media threats made by people dressed as clowns against several of our middle and high schools....."

If you had turned east when you left the airport you'd have driven through Fergeson, Cool Valley, and other "interesting" neighborhoods.

Downtown has considerably more law enforcement presence that the county.

St. Louis is definitely a kooky place, but I was actually referring to East St. Louis on the Illinois side of the river. Sadly it's much worse than the crazy parts of the city in Missouri.

Case in point, multiple felony convictions will not exclude an applicant from gaining employment on the East St. Louis police department. A city so crooked that the money for trash service - and many other funds as well - was being embezzled and no sanitation service would do business with them for over seven year and no one cared.
