Today I had a visit with the eye doctor, a mountain biking buddy of mine. Figured it was long past time as it has been about 8 years or longer since I went for an eye exam. Been using cheap readers from Walmart for my close up stuff but over the last several years my distance vision has started to worsen to the point that I always wear glasses on the motorcycle and wear vision glasses for night driving or long distance stuff. I break/scratch/lose/misplace them a lot so glasses aren't the best option for me. My eyes are both the same prescription and I don't have astigmatism or any other issues. Turns out that my vision prescription is in the range where dual focal contacts work just fine, that is they have a focal point for close up stuff and another one for distance (as opposed to the way they used to do things putting a contact in one eye with the close prescription and another in the other eye with the distance prescription then letting your brain sort out which one to use...works but screws your depth perception). I'm typing this on the computer without glasses, something I haven't been able to do without them for at least the last 10 years if not longer. I also have corrected distance vision now so it's like new eyes! The verdict it still out because there are some issues, sometimes things aren't perfectly clear, my eyes are beginning to feel tired since I've had these things in all day, etc. That being said my initial impressions are mostly all positive and I may have found a great solution and be able to tolerate contacts. So father time, :brianr: at least temporarily for the eyesight.

Yeah I grabbed the boxes when I was at the dealer to put my used wheels in for protection and transport. At the shop. More photos later.
