Has anyone moved the blind-spot monitor devices over to an aftermarket rear bumper and had them work? Or is that just a feature that you lose out on when swapping to a new rear bumper?

For reference, the only picture I could find illustrating the location of the BSM devices is this:

They don't work behind steel bumpers so you have to mount them above or below the bumper from what I understand.

I was wondering how FF accommodates the BSM on their rear bumper. Apparently they just fit it in behind their logo cutout.

It can't be that hard to accommodate in a bumper. Just cut holes for the sensors and add some black plastic or rubber caps.

I'd be all over a solution like that.

@C4 Fabrication I put in an order but didn't think about this. Do you guys have a solution with your bumper?

We are working on a solution the end of this week. We didn't have a Tacoma with the tech package for designing our original bumper, but we have one coming in a few days to design a rear bumper that works with BSM

@C4 Fabrication Please do! I will be placing an order for a full rear bumper setup as soon as this feature is available. I'd definitely like to keep all of the tech options in my new TRD Pro with your awesome bumpers.

That would be awesome. Much better than hoping someone lightly bumps into me so I can use the insurance money for the bumper and sensors to go aftermarket. I dig the bsm and would like to keep it if possible. I could live without the proximity sensors, silly to have in the back when we have a back up camera. Would be much more useful in the front

I'm in for a rear bumper that retains BSM sensor functionality.

We are currently down one full-time employee and its pushing back our date for designing the direct replacement rear bumper that will hopefully utilize the BSM function. It will be a couple weeks before we can start on it.

Is it going to be a high clearance or regular rear bumper?

right now we are going to try to make the BSM system work in a regular rear bumper. We may not be able to fit the sensors into our Hi-Clearance bumper.

Little tree air fresheners. Clazzio black leather seat covers.
Definitely want a rear bumper that still allows use of the BSM. Will definitely keep tabs to see the out come.
