    I used this pin switch:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009SXOVA

    I used these diodes:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NQ36SCM

I used this wire (you can use any 16 gauge wire that you want but this is what I have. I'm always doing electrical stuff so I buy the big rolls):
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GB0D4Q

Take a look at the install manual for the bed lights:
    https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0...8_TA_TOYOTA_MCDONOUGH.pdf?6492033332345436988

The way I wired mine, the dome light will activate the bed lights, the pin switch will activate the bed lights but the pin switch will not activate the dome lights inside. Here is a pic of the way I did it:

Thanks! That's exactly how I want mine to work. Figured I'd need some diodes to keep the pin switch from activating my interior lights.

I did the map lights on with the dome light mod. Now I actually see when I open the door at night.

I also mounted my UltraGauge in the sun glass pocket up in the overhead console. I wanted to put it somewhere out of sight.

Isn't that how the DRL are set up? On my 2010, when I start the truck, the yellow lights in front come on - daytime running lights. When I turn on the lights, they go off. These are also the turn signals.

I had one on a previous truck, not a tacoma, and I loved it. I pushed the boat trailer around (made it very easy to get into the tight parking spot), put a shackle in it and all around far more universal than just a recovery hook.

Is that your home in background? Looks great! I grew up in a brick home...always wanted to own one. Got halfway there on our most recent home that is half brick and half aluminum.
