all my pressure sensors had been working fine until this evening then poof a yellow warning light on the dash and no reading what so ever on the display, I didn't hit anything, nothing out of the ordinary happened. The only thing I did today which. Ihadn't done before is run the truck through the car wash. I don't get it. Does anyone have any suggestions.

I am running FN X wheels, 285/70/17 for the past four weeks with stock Toyota sensors.

No expert here, but I bet you it has something to do with your new wheels. I changed wheels on a truck and Toyota changed sensors and did an alinement. Maybe they were right or they ripped me off..dunno

I would be inclined to feel the same way, but they worked for the last month, just fine. It's like a fuse blew,

Go to discount and ask for a relearn your sensors they will tell you if there is anything wrong with any of your sensors

Sensor probably got damaged when they were mounting the tires.

No BRO-ness to speak of... Well, except Kbro2's
Couple things i know for a fact as they happened to me...

    1. Try following the reset procedures in the manual (involves pressing the button under the steering wheel at a certain time for a designated time period) and see if they will reset after a 5 mile driving cycle. When my truck was new this same scenario you are describing happened for no reason whatsoever and this fixed the issue until three months later..... (see #2)

    2. If one sensor is bad, you will get no read out from the other three, no matter what. Discount broke one of mine installing my new wheels and replaced it with aftermarket garbage that wouldn't sync with the ECM and i eventually had to replace it with an OEM part and have it programmed to the truck to fix the issue.

    Hope this helps out.

You shouldn't need new TPMS sensors. Sounds like may one got damaged. The TPMS system takes some time to re-learn the new locations of the sensors. I suggest as mentioned to go thru the reset procedure in the manual. There's a quirk tho in the reset... drive highway speed and drive past 70mph during the drive part of the procedure. Report back...

Oh and thats a safety thing the dealer should fix for you unless your tire guy broke one...

First I'd check the pressure in each one and then reset the system after all of the tires have been checked to have the correct pressure including the spare. The system is set to go off when any of the tires has decreased in pressure by 25% so if you got new wheels / tires or even service where they changed the pressure in the tires from whatever they were before, then your warning light will come on. The light may not come on immediately after one of these changes has been made either. It could take a day or two in my experience.

This morning Toyota dealership said I'd have to bring it in to reset the whole systems of the tune of 149.00. I didn't see a reset procedure in the manual. At least it's only a light. I drove it 600 miles today. Love this truck. I live on an island so this is it's first big trip. Took me almost a year to get her up to speed

So the dealer diagnosed your problem over the phone and quoted you a price assuming no warranty coverage ? Because of your new wheels and tires ?

No. I stopped by the dealership on the mainland before I hit the road. After market wheels void the warranty.

The button is there. I've tried it twice to no avail. I'll try again tomorrow

Got it. That stinks  :( - it should have worked in a matter of moments in my experience. If possible the charge should go to the guys that did the tire / wheel install. It's probable that they were the ones that damaged the sensor, however a month with them on is kind of a long time to have a damaged sensor not present itself. I've had maybe a 2 or 3 day window between a dealership readjusting my pressure and the sensors going off. Never that long though. Possibly easier said than done to get your money recouped. Hopefully this doesn't end up costing you more than you've put into the wheels and tires already.
