Yeah I thought it was terrible. I lasted about 20 minutes. The sad part is they could continue BF4 and release large map packs + big improvements and actually charge good money for it. People liked that game despite a lot of the issues. ALl it needed was some TLC. It's a shame DIce is a fucking retarded company that will actually insult the playerbase by publishing articles with headlines like `Improving the "netcode"` as though that's not a real thing.

I played a good bit (not sure how much actual time) of the Beta just since it was something new (I'm cheap and don't buy too many games).

I'm not a fan of large maps. How much bigger of a BF4 map would you like to have?

By large I meant number not necessarily scale. They had a great foundation. It needed some love and time and it could have been great. I'd gladly have paid for big map packs of 10+ maps that aren't DLC exclusive.

Idk what you are getting at but BF4 IS GREAT now. They fixed so many of the flaws and bugs, and the netcode did get improved. By a lot. Hit reg too. And they released all the DLC maps for free. I think there will still be a ton of playing BF4 even when BF1 comes out.

Opinions. Most of the maps were extremely played out. That game could use some refreshing map packs that are actually good. The worst thing they did was tier the map packs into the DLC-pay-for-scheme which spread the community out and half the players were done with whole chunks of the game by the time other guys were finding it.

Not to mention the last few map packs were absolute trash those snow maps are fucking terrible. If they'd recreate many of the BC2 greats, some of the BF2 legends, and even bring back the wide open spaces of BF1942 maps that would be awesome.

Additionally, the fact you don't like the large maps is sort of like saying you don't like the vehicles in BattleField games. That's their whole purpose. Large combined arms. If you want smaller scale inf vs. inf check out Call of Duty (gag) or any of the Counter Strike games. BattleField should have stayed large.

I liked naval strike, dragons teeth, and final stand. China rising however didn't do it for me.

We must be polar opposites. Battlefield was made way too fast and chaotic for maps as small as the dragons teeth* maps. Especially at 64 players. Final stand was the worst part of the whole game. It's like DICE decided to just ruin the game in 1 DLC.

Naval strike could never be any good cause they couldn't properly balance the gun boat. Those things were stronger than tanks, had 2x AA guns, and could repair while shooting you.

I'm on PC. I jut got a Steam controller so I'm using any excuse now to get on racing games like GRID again. Also picked up Project Cars.

My next plan (today? :D) is to get my streaming system setup so I can use my big computer to play on the TV.
