jeeeprs...3 week delivery time but ordered. I've had an EZ for years but have the same probs everyone has. I've added so much weight to my tailgate I almost feel like I need two of them ( one on each side ) to get it back to how slow it opened OE weight.

I know people will ask so - my tailgate was super beat up from years of shuttling mountain bikes so I did all of the body work and then had it LineX'd to preotect it from future stupidity...that stuff is heavy. Also added the tailgate skin from Mobtown...the tailgate has to be 25 lbs + heavier than stock.

I did this, I have the relentless steel reinforcement. Just one wasn't enough. So I added another on the other side. Way better.

Well actually the fridge is moved to the backseat where another 12v plug was added, so its not bad. We have a small dog in there with us too haha.

It is very well made, fits great and the upgraded hardware option is cool too. Installing nut zerts without the nutzert tool can be tricky - two suggestions :

    1. Drill the holes for your nut zerts tight - like so tight that you have to lightly tap them in with a hammer. The tighter the hole the less deformation will occurr as the insert collapses and locks in tight.

    2. Use an open end wrench not a ratchet to tighten them, it is much easier when you are on plane flat with a wrench vs a ratchet which is hard to hold perpendicular.

MT stuff, RTT stuff, the usual.
As a newer RTT owner, the only downside is having to close the tent every time you move the truck.

    my initial frustration.

I jokingly mentioned to my wife that I was going to sell the RTT because of that inconvenience.

She suggested I start a trailer build :notsure:

I almost went that route but decided against it for this reason. If it's just two of us we sleep under the softopper. If it's the whole family I assign the wife to tent setup duties ;)

My problem with the tent would be having to piss in the middle of the night. Seems kind of a hassle to have to crawl down a ladder. Also, is there a clean area to put your shoes/socks in the tent?
