Magnuson supercharger

I checked a couple of days ago and it was 5,599 or something like that. Nice to see they finally went down on price. Now I feel bad for everyone who paid like 7k for a TRD one lol

 

Any opinions on jba headers? I snagged a set for 100...

 

I ended up getting lucky and finding a TRD blower gathering dust in someone's garage but when I was contemplating getting the non TRD badged Magnusson blower my deal said they'd both install it and not have the warranty be voided. This was important since I have a 2013.

 

It appears as if most dealers have a say in whether or not they will both install and warranty or not at their own discretion from the sounds of it. Best to check with the dealer you would be taking it to before picking one up.

 

Yep, agreed. I actually was competing for a used TRD blower taken off a t boned Tacoma on Craigslist and requested confirmation from my dealer if they'd install it even though there were some missing pulleys, brackets, etc. They researched it and got back to me saying that they could find those parts and it was no big deal for them to install it. I lost the bidding war for that used blower but found one 8 months later on ebay, literally sitting in the garage of someone's mother in law who's husband had passed before he could beef up his own Taco. It felt bittersweet getting that blower but I feel like I carried the torch on for the old man who was originally going to install it since I live in Colorado and use the hell out of my truck fishing, camping, mountain biking and generally putzing around at high altitude. The dealer ended up honoring the original install quote. $1k even, plus some fluid and clamp charges I think.

The service rep I just talked to is a douche, so we'll see if comes through with an answer. I may have to email his service manager to get the correct info. If not, there are other dealers out there who want business.

 

That's my biggest issue with dealers, most of the time they talk to you like you are an idiot and have no idea what you are saying. It's mostly why I avoid going to them in the first place, but I understand the incentive behind it. (Warranty retained for factory when work is done by them using genuine OE parts, everything is most of the time done in house, and everything is usually accessible and easily available, etc etc.

This guy said I would have to bring him the software, then they would install it.

When I drop the transmission, to install the fresh clutch disks, I will tackle that project as well. Anxious to get a count on how many sentences are just swear words. Lol

 

Still haven't done mine. No excuses, just laziness per usual. Wait wait, my excuse is -"I'm waiting until I get a solid Trans crossmember so I can do both at the same time".

 

Pff. Trans is like a 15 minute job.

 

I mean buy it from someone that's got it , so far there are none actually on the market.
