I'm hoping somewhat soon. going to try to throw it in at the same time I pull the transmission to swap my torque converter since I need to pull the DS anyways.

    Maybe you have a bad u joint(s)

Recently a buddy of mine was asking about a clunk and thought maybe something was wrong with the trans. I told him to check the driveline first. Next day he says found lots of play in one of the u joints.

    This is what we found..20160917_181758.jpg

Or maybe the driveshaft needs to be balanced at a driveline shop

Thanks for the replies MonkeyProof :) I've ordered new blue seal Spicer joints so i have a clean slate to work with. It's funny that everything was smooth with the factory support, although I had the occasional shudder from a stop. Nothing like the vibes im experiencing now. I replaced it as a preventive maintenence item not thinking I was opening a can of worms. I'm going through the Spicer install manual this evening and will do some operating angle measuring tomorrow. I'll get it, but just want to let people know it's not a simple plug and play on the DCLB.

Yep, fun times haha, this carrier is definitely not plug and play on any Tacoma really. U-joint/driveshaft/pinion angles probably need to be adjusted and possibly the driveshaft needs a balance. I'm thinking mine may need a balance and some work. Gonna see what that costs, if it's more than $100, its not worth it(to me), I'd rather put that towards an upgraded one piece shaft.

Finally got mine installed over the weekend. Used 1 3/4 spacers to get the right height and 10mm 1.25x70mm bolts.

Make sure you get those bearing retention brackets painted up or they will rust.
