27 mm shallow socket for reverse switch on manual transmissions. I can verify for the 6 speed on the 4.0L, but I expect that the same switch is used on all manual transmissions, the part number is common to many models and years (Tacomas, FJs, Corollas, many others). There is not a lot of room, a deep socket won't fit. Also need an extension for the 2nd gen, as there is not enough room to fit the head of the ratchet in there either!.

Didn't go through every page but I am going to buy one of these the next time I go to autozone. It is assist in removing the inner tie-rod from the steering rack. I know my replacement tie-rod is ~7/8" but I dont know what the stock size is. My truck is far from stock so I could probably get away with not having the tool but its always good to have the piece of mind that if you need to repair an inner tie-rod on the trail this ought to assist!

 

Anyone know what thread pitch the skid plate bolts are? Picked up an used trd skid plate and didn't come with original hardware and the front two bolts are too short to go through both the trd skid plate and factory one..

I did a search and couldn't find something similar for nuts/bolts to carry as spares. For years, like most of us, I got real familiar with USS & SAE patterns. But I have no idea of what variation in this stuff would be for my 2006 Tacoma. I've noticed a bolt or two missing from a door jamb but would have no idea of what to buy to replace it? Common sizes/thread pitch? Ideas?

I made a spreadsheet to print out for my next trip to the Craftsman store and attached it here. Like most of you probably do, I have these tools in my home tool box but want to put together a kit for my truck. Thanks for the list Crom!

 

Virtually everything on the truck is metric except the seat belt retention hardware. Some auto parts stores will have display of hardware you can try before you buy etc. I go there often...

I used this tool on my car, and holy god, the job was impossible without it! Great to have tool.

 

PCV valve requires a 19mm deep socket for the 4.0... I assume it might be the same for the 2.7? You have 19mm down already for the lower control arms.

Another addition: Torx T25 for side mirrors.

 

And these get loose with age. I tightened mine the other day. I've got a Mac Tool set with some torx bits and other odd ball stuff that helped me out.
