What's the best dual exhaust for a 2nd gen Tacoma? What is the best way to go?
I don't want to lose HP or Torque.

You could always just go to a muffler shop hand have them make it custom and save a bunch of money

Is it better to go 2.5" or 3" piping for a true dual exhaust?

I think 3" is too large for a NA 4.0 engine....2.5" may even be too large. If you do go with a true dual please post before/after dyno numbers as I'm curious what it'll do to the torque numbers.

I had mine done at a local shop that specializes in duel exhaust.

Dual exhaust looks so incredibly bad on these trucks.

I will see if I can post a sound clip. It does sound good!! And it helps the get up and go a bit as well. The one nice thing about the Taco is you can make it how you like. And if the other guy don't like it? Too bad, it's not his.

Its a controversial subject for sure, but in the Honda world which works generally on an even smaller displacement (4 bangers, 1.6 to 2.2 liter displacement) it has been proven a 3" exhaust makes gains over a 2.5" with proper tuning in both HP and TQ. I feel like you would definitely see gains with a 3" on the taco. I am no pro and this is all theory of course :)

You won't see any gain with a cat back regardless of size. Need to ditch the cats and get a better flowing header for that

Sure there is. If you want a terrible looking hillbilly truck, go with the dual. Looks terrible. Might as well route the exhaust up through the bed with a big stack with the flippers on top
