i can't stand these assholes now, holding onto my payments for 20 days etc. wtf ever happened to the old ebay where it was actually a good site. They are like fucking dictators over there, paypal and ebay. end rant

Agreed. Why are they holding your payment? Never had a problem myself.

 

you prob just bidded on the item instead of buying it and your waiting for the auction to end...

 

Ebay usually does this for a reason. They dont do it to everyone.

Yeah, they can take their fees and shove them. I'm not a fan, especially as a seller... though I will check ebay for deals any time I'm looking for something.

I like PayPal as a way to send payments to people w/o a fee (if you send as a 'gift'). I've used it to send and receive payments from TW people w/ no problems.

 

I've never had a problem with ebay...now there sellers is a whole different topic

Ever noticed how much eBay has changed over the years. I have done several hundred purchases and have been on the site since shortly after it started. Now, it seems the majority of sellers are businesses. The prices aren't nearly what they used to be. Heck I purchased everything from cars, boats, computers, auto accessories, to hunting stuff. Now I search and only periodically utilize the site.
I just wish there was another auction site that had the selection, I'd definitely make the break. Ken

 

yah i've sold stuff before, never had a problem for now. I'm in the process of selling a bunch of stuff from my drum set, and someone bought something and the payment is "pending" in my paypal. My accounts etc and confirmed or whatever. They won't release it until he confirms he received it or leaves positive feedback, and i've already shipped the drum.

I then sent a message to another guy who bought something saying if i don't receive payment by the weekend i'm going to re-list the item. He then emailed me back saying i was harassing him etc. crying about it, and said he was now going to wait until the allowed 10 days are up to pay me.

I just can't believe some people...check that, actually i can...

 

That's because they are trying to position themselves as another Amazon.

The auction model is nearly dead, particularly for the little guy, due to their ridiculous fees (including PayPal taking their share). All that's left now is overpriced eBay 'stores' and 'buy it now' prices.

eBay used to be a great place to find bargains and for cleaning out your closet. Good times.

Having been on eBay so long, I typically pay via paypal within an hour or so after the auction has ended, unless of course it was the middle of the night. I have a bidding service so I don't typically play bidding games and instead put in the price I am willing to pay and then go about my business until the auction has ended.
About the only thing you can do about people who play games is to put them on your "bite me list"..

you probably wrote an e-check, they put holds on payments like that. I did it once and it was a PITA.

 

I really like ebay and the 20-25% bing cashback....worked like a charm for a lot of my mods & christmas presents.
paypal I use a lot too. no issues.

They put a hold on the funds for certain high scam items. This holdnis lifted if the buyer leaves positive feedback. Also I believe the hold is only if you are under 100 positive feedback.

 

ahhh ok. I havn't sold/bought much on there that must be why. Oh well hopefully they will release my money so i can transfer it to my bank account and hopefully the other 5 people will actually pay lol

 

on a brighter note, my full OME lift came in the mail today.
