I would try as others have said and give them a call. If the feedback at this point proves they still don't understand what they are doing, then I would start to look elsewhere. I guess it depends on what time you have available, but I tend to like to see the dealership embarrass themselves when they learn they were absurdly wrong. It sucks you may have to come back a second time, but atleast they will probably start taking your truck and situation more seriously as more shop hours get spent on it.

@-dustin Thanks for the recommendation of trying Toyota of Plano.

I made an appointment with Toyota of Plano and am happy with my experience. The Service adviser listened to the details of my issue of the transmission slip and my request for the fluid to be checked. They immediately said they would do the Transmission fluid check and took care of me the way I expect any business to treat a customer. I didn't tell them about my bad experience at the other dealer so that i could see how they handled my issue. After my truck was serviced they informed me the transmission fluid was low but not by a lot. It took less than a quart to top it off. They handled it in a professional manner. I dont ask a lot from businesses but I do expect to be treated fairly and honestly. When I picked up my truck I then informed the service adviser of my bad experience with the other dealer and thanked him for his assistance. I will be using Toyota of Plano for the foreseeable future.

As far as the slip i have been experiencing, I will need a few days to see if its still occurring or if the transmission fluid fill fixes the issue. I've only had time to drive it once under the circumstances that it usually occurred.

Also, Thanks to everyone who gave input to help me try and figure out what I direction i should go. Everyone's input helped me get to a decision that i would be happy with. It ended up being finding a new Dealer Service center, I still dont know if I will be able to trust the Mckinney service center again or not. One day i may have to use them again but until then I will use a closer option to my work and a place that seems to take care of the customer better.

Im glad to see that you were able to find a decent experience at the Plano dealership. I think the fact that Plano seemed self motivated and thorough in their work would give me the clarity I needed to continue service with them unless the logistics for drop off were too hard. It does make you wonder if it would be worth relaying your experience to the previous dealer just to see if they would even try to entice you for your continued business?

Considering my high expectations for trust with dealerships, I probably wouldn't ever return to McKinney if it was me though. Hopefully you can start to enjoy your truck OP!

Hello. It is nice to find an honorable dealership. There are really getting too few. If your slip comes back, please post a video. There is a great collective knowledge on here with respect to transmission issues, and we would be glad to help you.

Thanks, I have read a lot about others experiencing this issue on this site and is a big part of the reason i believe the fluid will fix the slip. If it does continue i will try and get a video of it but it seemed like every time i remembered to try and record it the truck would shift perfectly. I should know within a couple days if the slip is still occurring.

After having my truck since '07 and my wife's Camry since '10 and living semi equidistant from Plano, McKinney, and Denton, I've found that you won't find one single dealership that does everything the right the first time. I've sworn off and then later went back to all of them for whatever reason. And you may find going on a weekday can be a smoother experience. Saturday is balls to the wall for them.

you can usually get it to act up on an immediate acceleration to 4th gear right after starting the car up in the morning.

My visits were both during the week. It was a Wednesday when i had the bad experience. I may end up back at the dealer. Thats partially because the dealer extended my powertrain warranty as they do for "all" New car sales. I believe it doubled Toyota's standard warranty on the powertrain but i believe it is specific to them. I wont pass on any waranty work that may end up being covered through them. I"ll need to look into it more before the standard Toyota warranty ends.

First start up in the morning during the first time it shifts through the gears is the time that it occurs most often. I've had it happen other times but it was rare. Its only been 1 day since the fluid was topped off so i'll be checking for it everyday when i pull out of the driveway. I didnt really notice it this morning but even before there would be times that it didnt slip so i dont want to claim its fixed until I have some time to verify that its gone or experience it is still slipping.

    all tore up already
Dealers suck. Such a joke. Had my 15k done today and its to a joking point now since they can do next to nothing to help me. Ever. Well other than rotating tires. But my needle bearing vibe? Nah thats "normal" to have lf cv with play. They made sure to note the lift a good dozen times and even noted the mud. I had to inform it is actually a truck. And the mud technically came from a road of sorts (granted it was class v but still a road on gps!)

sorry to to hear about the troubles. Warranty work from the dealer is one hassle I dont want to deal with due to a lift. Well that and also because i cant afford it right now. Maybe one day in the next few years i'll finally have the funds. For now theres too many other things my truck needs that are more affordable.
